Baldomir hadn't signed to fight Gatti because Gatti hadn't fought his comeback fight yet

RU guys gonna honestly tell me that if Gatti wins, he's THE MAN at 14, even though he got destroyed by PBF?

not me...i thought floyd fought the toughest at 147...judah..now that hatton is there he can fight him...then wait for cotto..then beat him and retire undefeated.. ;D

My very simple point. In any situation where you have a clear champion, which Zab was before the Baldomir, the person that beats him is obviously then the champ. I actually agree with you...beat the champs..forget about the contenders...beat the guy who has the belts..i had a thread where i said that pbf should have fought baldocosby because he was obviously better than judah..people said i must be crazy...

so if you can honestly say you wouldn't criticize pbf had he not fought judah then cool...

After Zab lost to Baldomir Floyd could have still made that move and Gatti hadn't signed a fight with Baldomir because he hadn't even fought Daamgard yet. So that was a makeable fight for Floyd against Baldomir.

Hatton-PBF is the most anticipated fight in the sport right now. It has to happen.

Theres no way Gatti's the man at 147 if PBF is still there.

But if he beats the champ, simople fact is he's the champ. I wont even try to say Floyd wouldnt beat him again but thats the way I believe champions should be made, otherwise there would be no sense of order in boxing. Well, less than there already is at least ;)

i agree totally..it's the so called hardcore fan that tries to say that belts don't mean anything...like in 90's...the reason the holyfield tyson fight didn't happen was because tyson lost to douglass...so holyfield fought douglass..which made more sense than anything..why fight the loser he's obviously not the best, because he just lost...

its because the view is distorted...and people have started to actually believe fighters when they make excuses..so people thought that judah had an "off night" when actually baldoman is better...but hbo didn't want to promote that fight so pbf took the money fight....roy jones would have fought baldomir in that situation...he's smarter...

Damn right. The belts do matter to an extent. They only dont matter when theyre stripped because of stupid mandatories etc.
