This moog guy must be joking about the Harrisson - Barrera thing . Surley he cant be serious
As for Mexicos greatest fighter . For me its between JCC and Mab . Personally I see Mab as a finer boxer as he can box inteligently . Chavez was prodominantly a brawler . Ofcourse history will decide on achievements and legacy . Mabs story isnt over yet but if he ends his career losing to journeymen like Chavez did then it will tarnish his rep . I dont think he will and if so he'l go down as Mexicos greatest ever sportsman
Re: MAB:greatest Mexican fight ever?
A big point nobody brings up when discussing todays fighters p f p iswhat happenend in 1990 and before, doing away with sameday 12/ o/clock weighins. It changed the goalpost.I think Boxing skillwise suffered, it gave the cheats a license to cheat more. It always makes me smile when at weigh ins when fighters make weight, the crowd applaudes, why thats what they are supposed to do. Or is it because they know, what everyone else knows that someones been cheating and got away with it.
Re: MAB:greatest Mexican fight ever?
I don't think an accurate response can be given to this until MAB finishes his career. Regardless of how he finishes though, I think this question will be a perspective thing and highly debatable.

Like I said he might not have acheived as much as Barrera or Morlaes but he would beat them, hardley the record of a guy that is not good as you stated. Take Chi who your saying is better than Harrison did Harrison not do far better than Chi against Brodie in stopping in four rounds down in Manchester I think so, and did Chi not turn down a fight with Scott Harrison? Brodie say's Harrison is better than Chi, McCullough say's that he was better than Barrera, Naseem and Morales. Opinions worth listening to when you consider they have both have been in the ring with Harrison and the others I mentioned so would they not know. One think for sure is most fighters Harrison fights don't think he's in here league until after they fight him and they all change there mind. Is he not just been ranked the Number 1 featherweight in the world in front of Marquez, Chi and Chris John e.t.c. He is also the longest reigning featherweight Champion in the world.
so was lacy and look what happened to him.
Collecting the names of people past their best doesn't count.
So picking Harrison because of where he comes from. He's too slow, too flat footed, too one paced, too hitable. The top guys would smash him in to little drunken pieces.
Re: MAB:greatest Mexican fight ever?
Oh my gosh, are people attempting to compare Harrison with MAB,EM?!?!

Re: MAB:greatest Mexican fight ever?
It's good to see that some people express positively about Julio Cesar Chavez. In my opinion, Chavez had one of the most accurate and powerful body punches. He won 5 world titles: WBC Super featherweight (1984), WBA Lightweight (1987), WBC Lightweight (1988), WBC Super lightweight (1989), IBF Junior welterweight (1990), WBC Superlightweight (1994) in 3 different divisions. Chávez also went undefeated for 89 bouts before originally retiring with a record of 104-5-2, with 80 knockouts. Among the world champions that Chávez defeated in his career are Edwin Rosario, Jose Luis Ramírez, Rocky Lockridge, Meldrick Taylor, Roger Mayweather, Sammy Fuentes, Héctor "Macho" Camacho, Juan Laporte, Tony López, and Frankie Randall.
His first fight against Taylor was a gift? It doesn't matter if the fighter has .01 of a second left for the round to finish, if he can't answer to the referee then the fight is over, as simple as that. Richard Steel can be seen on the video going "Are you ok?...Are you ok?..." while Taylor is probably seeing stars spinning around his head and was not able to answer...fight was stopped.
