He was an easy person to dislike, turning to the ref at every oportunity when he got hit legaly, he was just a disgrace and a little bitch, Reid had a good quote after the fight something like "his sister, mum and gran were scoring it" and "even Dick Turpin wore a mask"
Reid was and is a class act, shame about the Lacy aberation
Re: BARRETT INKS PACT FOR VALUEV FIGHT!
To me it doesn't matter which one shows up to fight Valuev, either one will kick his Ass
Re: BARRETT INKS PACT FOR VALUEV FIGHT!
This is the truth: Valuev is very hard to beat at this point. You laugh? He wasnt a year ago but something has happened. He has learned how to use his size. a) He has never even been much affected by a blow, b) he was not out boxed by Ruiz (if he is so bad why did Ruiz not knock him out or win convincingly?), c) he has a new weapon the uppercut to cut any smaller guy coming in down, d) he can finnish really well (its untidy but he gets it done), e) he has stamina to to go 12 rounds, f) he always keeps to his game plan (smarts), g) he pushes and holds and bullies, and so on.
I told you before the last fight that he was not a joke. Now nobody thinks he is. Lyakovich, Klitschko, Rahman, or Golota (when not insane) can beat him. Small guys can't. Peter cant beat him. Tony cant beat him.
Re: BARRETT INKS PACT FOR VALUEV FIGHT!
Ruiz didn't beat him cause Ruiz is crap... Valuev ain't got no power. Sure he's big but so what, he can't fight. He's never been affect by a punch cause he ain't fought no one. He has to have stamina cause he can't punch. Barrett is nothing brillant but he has enough to beat Valuev

You've got to remember that this is a division filled with average fighters who are at the top, and Ruiz got the belt, so if Monte's better than him why isn't he sporting any gold around his waist?
Re: BARRETT INKS PACT FOR VALUEV FIGHT!
Because Monte fought everybody else that was better then average
Re: BARRETT INKS PACT FOR VALUEV FIGHT!
Who cares about belts, there ain't no champion at heavyweight right now titles vacant... belts don't mean sh*t. Ruiz only kept his belt cause Toney was on the juice. So Valuev shouldn't really have a belt anyway, Ruiz retired then when Toney was suspended he came back and was handed a belt... what crap
Re: BARRETT INKS PACT FOR VALUEV FIGHT!
I hope Monte Barret wins. And from what I've heard of Valuev, I think he can do it. But will he get a fair shake?
Re: BARRETT INKS PACT FOR VALUEV FIGHT!
..Valuev has been rocked before, he just hasn't been hit by a big puncher. Taras Bidenko had him hurt, Derrick jefferson hit him good too

You make the most convincing, and logical, arguments(s) for Nikolai Valuev; I agree.
Re: BARRETT INKS PACT FOR VALUEV FIGHT!
Thanks Raeder!
To you who say that Valuev standing his ground against Ruiz shows nothing because Ruiz is crap; you have a too high standard. Ruiz is a durable tough guy who has taken on many good fighters: he is atleast top 10. or 15. In any case; if you can deal with Ruiz; then you a real boxer; a top 15. But you see; Valuev is better -no one denies that he looks better; more combinations, movement; foiling tacticts- than when he faught Ruiz. Barret is easier to beat than Ruiz. Valuev has nothing to worry about.

Samuel Peter would knock him out. Dunno why you think Peter is small??? He weighs bout 240 and is no doubt the biggest puncher in the HW division.
Re: BARRETT INKS PACT FOR VALUEV FIGHT!
There is a chance Samuel Peter could KO Valuev, but there is a chance he could KO anyone in the division, even Wladimir Klitschko in spite of the decision he took. Samuel Peter is built like a tank; he is not small. I think Samuel Peter will get his chance to fight Valuev, but by the time that happens, Valuev will have improved even more and defeat the Nigerian for his concomitant inability to improve and reliance solely on his impressive strength, power and aggressiveness, presumably natural attributes.
Re: BARRETT INKS PACT FOR VALUEV FIGHT!
No Peter is not small; but he is very short compared to VK and Valuev and he weighs 80 pounds less than valuev, while still being overweight. He may weigh 240-260 buts thats just going to make him slower. Valuev is perfect at 300+ and VK is lean at 250.
ok I hope we will see. If VK could take Peters punches and survive to win then so can Valuev. Valuev can win on points by jabbing and keeping the distance.

You are correct on all points, particularly the weights and each fighters' ability to function at a optimum level; Samuel Peter is still operating on raw-boned youth, but the poundage could slow him as you observed. He is exciting though...
