why does he need an easy fight to "re-adjust back" to his normal weight that he only left for a single fight? it's not like RJJ or Tarver putting on 30-40 pounds of muscle. the guy went up SEVEN POUNDS--he walks around much heavier anyway.
i'm guessing they couldn't schedule castillo right away, but they better be fighting him soon.
he dosent need an easy fight, castillo is banned til the end of the yearan the other chaps at 140 are tied up ui think,
that's what i was saying--the poster with whom you originally agreed (and praised for "seeing the light") was the one who claimed he needed an easy fight to "re-adjust" to going all the way back down seven pounds to 140.
Re: Urango confirms Hatton fight!!!
A little communication from team Hatton would be wonderfull. If they have explored other avenues until they were dead then say so, if Urango really is the best they can do then so be it. Im assuming Hatton would prefer a bigger name, but as it stands a lot of people think that this is the fight that Ricky and his team really want.

by him tuck tail and going back down to 140 how are we supposed to judge him? He has not challenged anyone but PBF(for money) other than that what has he shown us at 147? That he can be hurt by the lightest of punchers? or that the transition is simply too much for him? Either way it can now be assumed that Hatton was and will never be in the leagues of PBF, Baldomir or even Gatti(yeah, I said it!!). at least these guys had the ability to step up and hold their own. I won't bring up past fighters like ODLH, Duran, Leonard etc.....
Think your jumping the gun judging him like that at this stage, old son. I'm sure he'll happily move back up if the right fights can be made in the future, and considering the best win for the guys you mention as being in a different leauge to him, since moving up, has been against Kostya Tsyzu victims - who I'm sure you know Ricky beat the fuck out of - must count for something?
Kostya did, of course, have a shoulder that was injured so bad that he required immediate major surgery right after that fight. . . . And I wouldn't say "beat the fuck out of" either. I had Hatton up by a point or two when Kostya quit. And Hatton should have had at least one point deduction for all the fouling too.
Ok fair enough
Thanks for enlightening me about all the fouls and point deductions Hatton should of had I never knew about all that, and I guess you're right i shouldn't of said " Hatton beat the fuck out of him" it would of been better if i said "Hatton beat the fuck out of him enough to make him quit."

Try this: Kostya's shoulder was seriously injured so he couldn't get off his usual shots or fight as well as he usually did, was probably in serious pain from using it anyway, and eventually had to quit. At the time, he was fighting some guy called Hatton who was holding and hitting, leading with his head, and hitting below the belt. Despite the injury and lack of any point deductions, he was still only down by maybe two points. I still don't see any "beating the fuck out" there.

That's what I mean, he drops back down against Urango defends his championship stays active along the way teeing up for Castillo. Obviously you've never had to make weight, but it's one of the hardest things to do. If Hatton did not take this tune up fight before Castillo he would only be hurting himself. Like you say he only went up seven pounds but that was at weigh in, he would have been a lot heavier by fight time & put that onto the time from then til now & thats a lot of weight to cut for a big for. Better to take a warm up fight get adjusted & comfortable back at the weight then go after Castillo.

I don't know--I hear about him supposedly walking around at 170 all the time when he's fighting at 140. I find it very hard to believe that it's going to be any different/harder this time, just because he fought a single fight at a slightly higher weight than he usually fights at (but still much a MUCH lower weight than the weight at which he has supposedly always walked around). And I know muscle's harder to drop than fat, etc., but I can guarantee you that he lost that muscle long ago amid the pints.

Ha ha cc bro, I am one who would love to see the Castillo fight next, but if he's taking a warm-up 1st then it better be straight after that or I'll be disappointed!!!

CC, agreed. Castillo may well get suspended for a short time now anyway, so it's doubtful they could have set that up right away. But I do really want to see that one.

Along with the dodgy shoulder, fouls, lack of point deductions, etc I can also reveal Hatton had a horse shoe in his glove and employed ex First Earth Battalion agents to employ their secret Jedi mind tricks on Tszyu to put him off. True.

Look, the shoulder injury is public knowlege--though for whatever reason Kostya kept it a secret until recently. But there are medical records. This isn't some crazy conspiracy theory.
In any case, the main point is that when you have a fight where no one gets knocked down, and it's pretty close--one guy up by only a couple of rounds (in fact, one judge had it 105-104 at the close)--there's no one "getting the fuck beat out" of him. PBF "beat the fuck out of" Gatti. Wlad "beat the fuck out of" Byrd. I think you'll agree that those fights were very very different from the close, non-KO fight between Hatton and Tszyu. Shit, even Maussa was more of a beat down--at least he knocked the guy down.
The fight where Tyson quit on his stool was definitely weird/disappointing, but you wouldn't say he "got the fuck beat out of him," would you?

yeah cos kostya fought a clean fight didnt he . . . . . it was after the 3rd kostya low blow that hatton threw 1 back, and hatton is the only fighter that occasionaly leads with his head, and when both fighters [thats kostya as well] praised each other after the fight [which was a memorable moment] they was lying and jus doing it fir the cameras right? and when kostya was asked if he would get back in the ring with hatton HE SAID NO.

Nail on the head, mate. I think people are losing sight of the fact the fight is effing donkeys away yet. It's still a full 6 weeks before Rick would begin his usual 12 week camp. Frank Warren left us hanging till the week of the fight in some cases, so excuse me if I cut the FA boys some slack before they go public with whats what ::**

Look, I'm not saying Kostya won the fight. I've said throughout that I had Hatton up by two points when it ended. All I'm saying is that Hatton didn't "beat the fuck out of" Kostya. That's all. I didn't think it was controversial. It was a close fight. Cards were 105-104, 106-103, 107-102. No knockdowns. That's a victory, but it's not domination. What's so crazy about saying that?
