Its basically a meal and a nap isnt it? 4 hours.
Which dont mean much to the average man but when your extremely drained it can make a hell of a difference.
I noted that they didn't disclose the fight-night weights which they usually do either.
All said and done, Cotto would have probably been the winner if the way in was at 5pm and even if the ring was a lot bigger - but it does make a difference stylistically in Miguel's favour don't it?
Whichever way you examine it...
The weight in was done at 3pm after paulie's team complaimed.

I don't understand, mate. Is HBO "controlling" Cotto, or are they paying off people so that he can cheat the weigh-in system and win fights? There are too many conspiracy theories here to keep them all straight. . . . .

Arum & Cotto aren't network jumping to get more control.
HBO is pretty much jam up full with fighters & contracts. HBO & Arum had a deal for a 3-4 year contract on fights...just as they do with other fighters. It is the promoters decision & the fighters decision to stay or go...theyr'e not banned or scorned for going over to Showtime as Showtime does not lay exclusives on fighters anymore.
There is no conspiracy story to keep straight. Arum had Cotto lined up on the same night as the Hopkins fight & that is that...the Hopkins fight just happened to land on the very same night.
Big deal. No one's done anything wrong either...the Cotto debacle that Paulie is pissin & moanin over is run of the mill for every Cotto fight...he always blows up & the time really shouldnt be an issue.

you say conspiracy theory after all the skullduggary that has gone on throughout boxing history?
I tell you the truth that I have had first time experience were officials let guys box me way over their weight limit twice. I won both matches varily but the third time I bitched about it, got the guy that was only a tad bigger and beat him silly. I will tell the whole of the three stories if y'all would like when I get back home in a few hours.

I think I'll pass on the stories, mate. I don't see what they have to do with the question I asked you or your comments to which it was addressed. You seem a bit confused.

Lemme get this straight. So you like Cotto, but you're upset that HBO (and now Showtime) are controlling him. But you're also upset that Cotto cheated and gamed the system and had the weigh-in moved earlier. But it's not his fault because HBO was controlling him. Even though it wasn't an HBO fight, and was in fact competing with an HBO PPV. But it's not a conspiracy theory that HBO and Arum had it all worked out between them anyway. Although it shouldn't really have mattered to Malignaggi, because Maracho has beaten three guys who came in over their weight limit.
Is that about it?
Re: Malignaggi's Taste For The Fight Game Soured After Cotto Weigh-in Debacle
LOL. Cheers, mate. That's about what I had it at too. CC once I reach 100.

Now there's a fresh point of view.
Agreed. It was pretty much blind stupidity on their parts setting the match...but Paulie was half of that...which one I'm not sure...blind or stupid? Either way...I agree...that was a pretty hardcore beating & he may never get by something such as that...might not be a bad idea to go back to face easy opponents.

I never put any blame on Cotto and I am glad he won and knew he would win but what I am upset with is HBO guys like Hatton permitted to wrestle and getting gift decisions, and him and Floyed moving to various weight classes and getting first dibbs at the big money fights, belts and rankings while others or left waiting behind. Now the rules suddenly change about weigh in times for another HBO fighter then change back again.
You cronies just keep on protecting the big wigs but you wont shut me up and by the way these are just a few of the many shady goings on at HBO and Showtime you know it.

the "another HBO fighter" you're talking about is Cotto though, right? so you are or you are not upset with him? ???

by big wigs, you're referring to Cotto again now (the one who was "protected" by having the weigh-in times changed)?
I really am having a hard time following. Why does this stuff make you hate Floyd and Hatton but you don't "put any blame on Cotto" for the same kind of thing? And what the hell does HBO have to do with it? They called the NY commission and told them they had to do this so that Cotto would have a great performance and draw fans away from HBO's concurrent Hopkins-Tarver PPV? What exactly are you saying happened? Stop throwing out vague accusations about "big wigs" and explain to me what happened and how you know. And why you don't hold it against Cotto (even though you would if it were Floyd).
Re: Malignaggi's Taste For The Fight Game Soured After Cotto Weigh-in Debacle
Shza dont play ignorant and try to defame my character by putting words in my posts and taking everything out of context.
By bigwigs everybody should know that I mean HBO and Showtime.
I dont hate any boxers and I would take most of the advantges they have if offered. It the fat cats that sit back and plan all these deliberate foul plays that I hate. I dont hate Floyed either though he is just lavishing in the corruption but unwittingly throwing his legacy away; thus I am really trying to motivate him. When I see Hatton and and Cotto I see true innocent warriors.
Every body knows about the Hatton/Collazo controversy and now the strange crap leading up to Hatton/Urango. There are hundreds of blogs about the favoritism and overprotection of Floyed and now Cotto's weigh-in issues does nothing good for his reputation. Heck a lot of you guys were ready to bann Costillo for life (now that's hate hypocrit!) for not making weight but when I say anything directly about HBO/Showtime you start cryin and clicken.
This aint just a conspiracy theory its more of a problem of guys like you trying to make fans think it is. This kind of thing has been going on throughout fight history but now the internet gives the common fan the chance to speak out and probably some the cronies are getting all twisted and sour pussed over it-- truth hurts cronies

I'm not trying to "defame your character." That's what you do. For instance:

Query whether you have any idea what "crony" means, but I'm sure you have a dictionary somewhere. (hint: you have to be a crony of someone; and I don't think anyone on this board is getting any kick-backs from HBO or Bob Arum)
In any case, I'm not trying to attack your character or "play ignorant." I'm genuinely confused, and you're still doing it. Compare:

Just speak clearly or people will think . . . I don't know . . . that you're not really saying anything and you're really just trying to start shit with people.

yes and no... I like everthing that you said... But He has backed up everything... No he did not KO Cotto but I like his style and his mouth......... He talks Sh*t like a true g*nny... Has balls for days... Earned my respect!!!
he said "Cotto can try and box and lose a decision or come after me and get knocked out"
he also said "Cotto is a one-dimensional boxer with no boxing ability, he won't be able to hit me"
sound like underestimating Cotto to me.
Sounds like. But you and I both know he trained his as* off for that fight. Mayweather called Gatti C+ and etc and still trained hard not underestimating him.
Absolutely and I gained a lot of respect for Malignaggi showing so much heart I the battle with Cotto, but every time he opens his mouth my respect level for him drops.

all i was ever trying to figure out is why these things make you "upset" at hatton and floyd, but not at cotto. you've gone on a number of tangents, but you haven't answered. i don't get it. honestly. i'm not faking.
