Re: roy jones junior vs. nigel benn What If ????
Jones beats Benn 9 times out of 10. Benn would of been an excellent name to have on his record although there's no gaurantee that Jones wouldn't of caught Benn on one of his unconquerable nights ;)
As for who hits harder between Benn and Toney, Barkley is probably the best judge of that ;)

Jones was the opposite of chinny in his prime he could take some flush shots...Once in a blue moon when he got caught he took it in stride, after the Tarver fight the bastage's chin was held on by shoestring and duct tape though ?? :-\
Re: roy jones junior vs. nigel benn What If ????
i havent seen alot of hes fights in hes prime so i cant comment on that mate

I dont blame Roy for not going over seas and Fighting Benn, especially after his friend Gerald got the S*** end of biased and piss poor deplorable officiating....Yes Mcclellan had more power than Roy, Gerald was one of the pound for pound heaviest hitters in Boxing History....
Re: roy jones junior vs. nigel benn What If ????
im not saying he should of fought him i know i wouldnt of after seeing that
Re: roy jones junior vs. nigel benn What If ????
and its actually best roy didnt fight him after that fight because benn was finished after that fight

True that :coolclick: I sincerely think if they fought after the Mcclellan fight there is not a doubt in my mind that Roy wouldnt of KO'D of TKO'D Benn

Re: roy jones junior vs. nigel benn What If ????
i voted Jones by ko for some reason, even I'm leaning to Jones UD now
only regional pride could force someone to believe Benn wins this :)
Re: roy jones junior vs. nigel benn What If ????
I got Roy getting a TKO in the 1st round if not the 9th round.
The reason why I said the first round is Roy always comes out and checks the person chin in the first round just to see they are okay, and after that he has a little inspection on their ribs just to make sure there in place. A little taunt here and there just to make sure there emotions are in tact.
Oops leaping left hook. that was not part of the operation nor in the text book.
Anyways
Bottom line: Roy posses, speed power, and accuracy Benn would of got hit so many times he would cut him and stop him. Even though Thomas Hearns was out of his prime when he fought Virgil Hill and Roy Jones was in his Prime when he fought Virgil Hill. Hill stated the Roy Jones Hits Harder Than Tommy Hearns
O0 EASY
Re: roy jones junior vs. nigel benn What If ????
The thing with Roy is that by the time Nigel got off a punch Roy would have landed 3 or 4 punches and moved out of the way...and it would be that way ALL NIGHT.
RJ would have taken it to Eubank and Calzaghe too...he COULD still take it to Joe...you never know, if I was Roy it would be the way to go

DAMN LYLE!!! Now you are making some sense. You are 100% correct for a change man. RJJ had blinding speed and was in a class by himself. And still could defeat Calzaghe with his handspeed, and power.

You make me laugh mate, i have never seen you give any credit to a British Boxer since i have posted hear, Benn is a decent fighter some of you guys go on as if Benn would have 0% chance of winning, Jones would school him imo, but Benn would of been a very dangerous opponent in there primes.
Re: roy jones junior vs. nigel benn What If ????
It would have been a sell out on voth sides of the Atlantic. Jones would be the favourite (deservedly so) - but there is no way he ever hit as hard as Thomas Hearns.
Benn was one of those fighters who was great when he was focused and wound up, and he would have provided a real test of Jones' chin and heart.
I think that Jones would eventually have worn benn down, giving a masterclass in fluid boxing, but not without a few scares on the way. Someone like Benn would have been Jones' worst nightmare at the tail end of his career.
