Re: Lyle's take on "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather Jr.
I know who I pick if Mayweather fought the Leonard of 1981.. Leonard by 5th or 6th round knockout. Ray would have matched speed and have been too big for Mayweather. I just do not see how Mayweather would have survived the power of Sugar Ray Leonard.
Re: Lyle's take on "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather Jr.
the problem with floyd for me is that if you are the greatest then you gotta show some heart. floyd shows no heart, he infact shows very little. he seems to have no pride...he's willing to dominate a guy over 4 rounds and rather than put him away(which he could have against baldi), he decides hes gonna coast over the next 8 rounds to an easy victory. so he spent alot of the fight litterally running away, throwing one or two punches, ducking, running, throwing a punch running and ducking again....etc... that is not great. that is not a show of heart. that is not what great boxing is all about, and that is not what we look for in an all time great fighter.
so is floyd agile? yes. is he fast? yes. can he box? yes. can he run around the ring like a chicken instead of taking someone out? yes. is he great because of it? no.
