Watch your mouth bout Mayorga buddy!
Mayorga did LOVE to fight, till he got totally robbed and screwed out of his Welter weight championship by Spinks and those crooked fukin judges. Then it just became all bout the money for Mayorga, goin for super fights with Tito and Oscar. Though Mayorga was thrilled, God bless him, when he beat Picarrillo's ass for that WBC strap, makin him a 3 time world champ.
James Toney loves to fight, I can tell you that.

Mayorga got played like a pawn in that whole deal... Picirillo was absolutely nobody, he and Mayorga fought for the vacant strap just so De La Hoya could have a big comeback fight he could look great in and add another title to his resume.. And Mayorga wasn't robbed against Spinks, it could have gone either way without the 2 point deductions he deserved..
Re: Name a current boxer..
Maybe I'm just cynical, but I don't think any boxer fights due to "love of boxing." It's either money or ego. Let's face it: Guys like Holyfield do not "need" a payday, but still do it because they believe they still can be the man they were at 25 years old. Guys like Floyd Mayweather Jr. are just looking for the biggest payday, and I say: Good for them! Boxing is the only sport that the participants risk death every second they compete in it. Their prime is awfully short, and they should get what they can while they can.
(By the way, while appreciating his technical mastery, I'm not a fan of Floyd. If he can pass the chin-check that is Oscar De La Hoya, I'll be mightily impressed).

True enough, but I doubt we will ever see him on PPV for $50 ever again. This being said, if only 10 guys came to see him fight he would still be there.
