Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
Round 5:
Khan's combos are looking good, nice body shots. A straight left counter catches Khan unawares as he works downstairs. Nice straight right from Khan. It is geting a little cagey. Khan does alright with a body shot. Drilzane catches Khan on the counter again. Nice right hook again from Khan. Good jab and hook from Drilzane as he ploughs forward. Good left from Khan.
He's outworking this french lad, but does get caught. Oliver Harrison telling Khan "What you've got to remember is this guy's tired too." Not good only halfway through.
50-45 Khan
Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
Round 6:
More jabs from Khan. He ducks a wild right hok and catches Drilzane off baland with a straight right. Good right jab from Drilzane, Khan grins and comes back with more jabs of himself. Good straight right from Khan and a hook as Drilzane misses on the way in. Khan caught by a right on the way in. Khan has been pacing himself, and throws 5 unanswered hooks to the body from Khan.
60-54 Khan dominating but not throwing too much that will damage this lad. Khan has looked rattled once or twice though, which can't be good from a guy with no recognised punch.

Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
Round 7:
Cagey start again. Drilzane has Khan really rattled and on the run. Chasing Khan down with three good hooks. Khan comes back with some jabs. Good left knocks Khan back, he tripped on a rope and touches down. Standing 8 for Khan. He's not happy with it, but threw a hook as Paul Thomas tried to step in. Good couple of hooks from Khan. Drilzane now chasing Khan down. Good left hook from Drilzane and Khan counters with a big left himself. Another dDrilzane right. Khan running a little now.
68-64 after the best round so far for Drilzane, Khan getting caught and looking a little tired.

Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
Round 8:
Khan on the run again. Good jab straight from Khan. Catching Drilzane on the way in. Nice straight right from Khan again. Good 1-2 from Khan, but Drilzane hoks back. Four body shots from Khan, the step up in weight is showing even against this non puncher. Khan walks into a right. Khan catching Drilzane on the way in again. If Drilzane had some workrate he would be doing much better. Three body hooks and a jab to the face from Khan. Drilzane's size is a factor.
Another Khan round, though Drilzane is not being hurt at all. 78-73.

Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
Round 9:
Good right to open from Drilzane, but Khan comes back with two body combos. Good short punches to the face rom Khan. Great uppercut from Khan rocks Drilzane, e backs off to the ropes. More jabs from Khan, not as exciting tonight as in his previous 9 bouts. Two good body hooks and a right to the top of Drilzane;s head. Good right on the counter from Khan. Good left hook from Khan, as Drilzane lunges in. Good hook from Khan, displaying some more lateral movement now.
88-82

Aye, I agree. Looked a bit flustered a few times tonight, and it is his workrate and speed which have saved him.
Round 10.
Good right from Drilzane, pins Khan oin the ropes. Jab-straight from Khan. Drilzane looking for a KO. Jabs from Khan catch Drilzane on the way in. The frenchman looking for some big hits. Left hook from Drilzane. Good couple of uppercuts and hook to the body. Big riht from Khan, but hooks to the body from Khan in reply. Khan going all out, loads of hooks and jabs mixing it up nicely, but a very good right stuns Khan and he backs off. Drilzane shows durability, and Khan battered him in that last.
98-91.

Speaks volumes that he backed right out of that final exchange.
A puncher will destroy him
Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
Top work from Khan. 10 rounds at a decent clip against a genuine light welter, threw plenty of leather at the end too. Excellent nights work.
Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
To be honest Khan did very well tonight, he outworked this guy in every round, and the knockdown looked more of a trip in my opinion, but he did get caught by a fair few nice rights, and probably the best test of his chin so far, it isn;t totally a glass jaw, even if it was against a non-puncher.
Scores:
UD 99-91 on all cards. I guess they all reckon that it wasn't a knockdown, or he came back so well. Khan looking pretty pleased with himself, it is only a nothing belt, but good to ssee him go the distance, though he tired a little in the late middle rounds. This was probably the highlight for the crowd, very good fight by Khan overall.

Should it not have been over 12 rounds for an intercontinental title :detective:
