I am not sure that Lacy is able to read that fine letter. That letter was written in a gentleman way. If Lacy is to read that it has to contain gangsta and criminal stuf ;D - no, Lacy is a fine guy and a gentleman but I do not think that he would stand a china man's chance against kesssssler. Hmmm, tattoos that are heterosexual? Sorry, but I gotta disagree with you on that one, I don't think your description of those 'heterosexual tattoos' covers up your own feelings for Mr Kessler ;) It's okay jan...we're very open minded and liberal on this board :p we keep the mean stuff on the hidden boards.

They part i found funny was how he mentions kessler beat up a rugby player as if they are all solid? i played for 10 yrs and wudn't think much of a world champion boxer who cudnt take a rugby player.

And Calzaghe I think recognizes that and no matter what Palle says, Manfredo is 10 times the NAME of Kessler. No one knows who Kessler is. My friends little sister knows who Manfredo and Mora are.
You say he leaves himself open but when Kessler faces southpaws his footwork (which is really good) is used to line his opponent up for the right hand. Just like he display against Beyer.
My suggestion - watch Kessler again. When in doubt, watch him again.
Kesslers footwork, jab and right hand are some of the most versatile in the game. So much so that he has barely lost rounds solely cos of them. Everytime people doubt him and he steps up in competition he dominates in style. The man has probably lost less than 12 rounds in his whole career. Maybe as low as 5-7.
Kessler will keep stepping up but when his tools don't work against the elite I want to know if he has even more offensive and defensive tools. If he does, god help boxers.
Kessler hasn't really showed amazing infighting abilities because to date his jab, right hand, sense of distance, foot speeed, hand speed, height, reach etc has totally dominated guys to the extent that he boxes in mismatches.
Kessler is a potential spoiler for Calzaghe. If he boxes Joe, he'll make him look bad.

The first time I read it I didn't quite realise the implication but halfway through jangeorg's last baffled rambling it hit me, and personally I think that the implication is disgraceful....but quite possibly accurate.

nah, taylor just has a lot more drawing power than kessler at the moment. its about the money. calzaghe isnt all talk though, he might even be able to take taylor. hes bigger than ouma who taylor couldnt seem to KO and even though he clearly beat ouma, k.o. exposed some weaknesses that im sure j.c. will keep in mind...i agree though, manfredo is a sacrificial lamb, i think he took it cuz shit if someone told you that you could work a half days work with peter manfredo or you could put in a full days work with someone like kessler and get roughly the same amount (or more to fight p.m.) keep in mind that at the end of the day, boxing is a business; these guys are not always all about pleasing the fans and fighting the biggest fights. they choose to fight the "smart" fights for the most amount of money and keep their bodies and brains as intact as possible in what is probably the most dangerous sport around.
