The downslide of Iron Mike just wasnt too pretty.
Few come back so hot after being in the nick for 3 years. Even Ali lost a bit of shine, Prime Mike whoops on Holyfield though.
I hate seeing the Evander fights because it really was a declined Tyson and it got a lot worse.

It depends. If Holyfield hadn't been allowed to headbutt it may not have happened. Tyson was more focused and in much better shape for the 2nd fight. In the 2nd one he knew Holyfield was no joke. But Holyfield opened up a huge gash above Tyson's eye with a headbutt and that's when Mike flipped. Had he been able to articulate it he would have said as much instead of whatever it was he said about having kids to feed.

IMO Tyson quit before he got KOed.
If all boxers reacted like Tyson did just coz he thinks he is getting treated unfairly then it would be the end of boxing.
But of course the biggest joke of all is that Tyson was one of the dirtiest boxers of all time and he got away with it most of the time because he was the big name.

Tyson knew exactly how it was going to end,hence the bite.I remember for a second while watching that.Tyson got a look on his face after the first bite,Holyfield stood straight up,cocked his head and jumped forward....just rushing in bombing.Tyson was hoping to catch him and looked like he was just waiting.This is an oldie huh?
The arguments the next A.M were of legend Lol.I had to listen to so many at the workplace justifying it...."If he didn't head butt him" "Mike just went street on him,thats all" :bucktooth:..............Mike knew he was getting KTFO again.Period.

Holyfield was well on his way to stopping Tyson in 8 rounds. Mike knew it too.

To Mike getting disqualified was a far better option than getting ko'd which is what I believe was going to happen to him at some later stage of this fight ... Mike Tyson tho, it has to be said was not the same fighter at all fighting Holyfield that he had been 4 to 5 yrs previous..

I honestly think Holyfield should have been disqualified in the first fight, I have never seen somebody use the clinch as so much an advantage in my life, and its not just clinching, but he would clinch Tyson then he would punch while clinching.
The first two rounds of the second fight could have gone either way, and Tyson won the third, I think thats why Evander head butted him, because the fight was going differently. Mike was fighting more at range, he seemed a lot quicker to.

Tyson clearly would have lost.
Hit bit his ear after giving it all in round two realizing that his style had no effect on Holyfield.

Watch the fight again, this time ,holyfield wasn't kicking his ass onthe inside, and Tyson was landing the right hand from the outside, still not sure if he would have fallen apart, but Holyfield had to resort to his cheap ass tactics to compete.

Give me a break here Taeth.....:beatdeadhorse:.Tyson got whipped mentally even prior to physically,he saw Holyfield was not moving after feeling his bombs and deteriorated,things get rough,he should fight more & whine less.They are not sipping tea and knitting sweaters in there.Holyfield did not "need to resort to cheap ass tactics" to win.The timing in & out,counter rights,left hooks off the tight inside turn and jab were doing just fine!!
