This thread is kinda pointless. Peter shouldn't have to be weighing up alternative opponents. He fought not one, but two eliminators for the right to fight Maskaev, and won them both.

He doesn't need to beat any more bums to make a name for himself or to put him into title contention, he needs only the WBC to honour their contract.

Isn't that what you said about Maskaev? That he's a bum, and infact the "worst" title holder out there
