I like the article though I don't agree that too many people will actually believe Tony is ducking Cotto. I'm a big time Cotto fan and would have liked to see the fight but Margarito has a career of his own and he deserves to take advantage of his opportunities as they present themselves. Margarito's team is right about not wanting to give up the belt as it already hard enough for him to get a fight as it is. I understand Arum's concern about having to replace Cotto's iopponent for June but again, even as a Cotto fan, I can't see how that's fair to Tony.
Bottom line is Tony's doing what's best for him and I for one commend him for it.

I said a bit of a hypocrite. Because in his interviews, "who is Paul Williams?", well he trashed Floyd for saying the same thing about Tony. And he is fighting in March right? And not against Cotto? So why not fight Cotto? Because he wants to protect a big payday just like Floyd did with Oscar. So yeah, it's fair to say he was coming off as a bit of a hypocrite and I think that's bothering Tony which is why we have that article posted up.

Those are good points and definitely valid arguments but one thing to remember is that Floyd didn't go do the right thing and try for the Margarito fight so they're not the same. It's not like the money wasn't there for Floyd if he opted for Margarito.

I just don't think that Williams is ready for Margarito. His last few opponents haven't really been top tier. And despite Margarito looking terrible against Joshua Clottey and the fact that Clottey broke his hand, Margarito still won. I want to see Margarito fight someone like Josh Clottey to see how he'd stand with Margarito.
and for some reason I really want to see Margarito fight Cotto and for the oddest reason I want Margarito to win that fight :-\

Maj,my man,you're making no sense to me! I thought,looking at your sig,you like Cotto?Why would you want Tony to win? And theres a reason why Margarito has been the only belt holder to give Clottey a crack at a title,because hes rugged,tough and there is no-one like Clottey.
And whether Williams is ready or not is not an issue. He has 32 fights right? Only 4 less than Tony. Also,he busted up Tony in sparring right? Another reason he's ready. Finally,if Tony does not fight him,what will everyone say? Tony ducking etc etc BS. So Margarito has no choice?!!

I am starting to like this Margarito fellow each day.. He has 2 big threats ahead and he is going for it ! I be pleasantly surprised to see Tony beat Williams or Cotto .I just don't see that happening ! I do like this Margarito determination factor and gusto , but will that be enough is the question..?

I was actually stocked when I heard Margarito was fighting him. And thats why I said its the oddest reason, I'm a Cotto fan, but its like if I wanted anyone to beat him it would be Antonio Margarito and it doesn't make sense to me ???

Arum is always stirring up the pot, he thought he could just boss Tony around, and Tony would be his little puppet. I give Tony alot of credit for taking this fight and wanting to keep his title, you cant take all that money with you when your dead, its your legacy that lives on. I think Arum made up the hand problem to give him an out to duck Williams...I thought Clottey was the one that busted his hand.If Williams was promoted by Arum the fight would have happened a long time ago.If Margarito wins, he definately gets bumped up a level in my book.I dont know why he is held in such high regard by some....his record isnt full of good fighters.I'd say maybe 3 good fighters...Clottey, not impressive fight, Cintron, maybe his best fight, and a few old farts that were way past their prime. Santos fight I'll throw out the window, he may not have lost. They way some people talk about him you would think he was undefeated, and knocking people out of the ring.
