Well...those individuals can keep "hoping" because I dont see it happening.I dont see how you can be a fan of a sport...but you only watch just to "hope" for a KO...and then when he dominates...he still doesnt get credit.
I liked the Baldo fight...he did everything right. He picked his shots,He frustrated Baldo, and he didnt get hit.

Why can't you see him having a chin? Because he got knocked down by a temple shot? Ward will be world champ one day. Got an excellent demeanor. Improving every fight. Hard worker who isn't interested in moving to fast, you just know something is special about him.
Barely ever do I expect big things out of a 10 fight novice. But I'll tell you, Andre Ward is going to accomplish big things :thumb: When he gets back on TV he is going to open a lot of eyes.

Agreed. Do I watch Floyd replays? I've probably watched the Judah fight more then any fight in my library. He's a great fighter, I don't get how he could ever be called boring. Just because he didn't step on the gas pedal one fight, he's been labeled a boring fighter. Don't ask me how that works.

ward has potential but its annoying to hear people say his gonna be the next roy jones. its not fair to roy, even though i think ward has potential i doubt he can match half of jones accomplishments.
Re: Who's the next true p4p king?
He isn't the next RJ, he's the next Hopkins if anything. Not to say he's going to do half of what Hopkins did but his style isn't RJ. He just forced it for TV and the Jordan advertisement.

i think he should be the next himself, he shouldn't try to imitate roy for t.v or the jordan brand. if his gonna go anywhere he needs to be the next himself and make a real name for his own name not others name.

I think he realizes that now. And yeah, he needs to blaze his own trail which is what he wasn't doing the first 6 or 7 fights of his career. He's gotten better.
Re: Who's the next true p4p king?
I think Ward can either suck or be right up there with the Elite. He has a lot going in his favor. He hasnt lost a fight in 10 years...has a solid camp...is under Roys umbrella....and he's smart. He needs to learn to settle down and not try to be flashy the whole time.He still has that tendency to rush in with a 123 combo and tie up...which is an amatuer technique.

I agree completely. Wow. CC it wasn't the chin that worried me it was just what you described. But the reason I think so highly of him is because he's improved that.
It was his right hand that did that. What he did in the past was square up and fire with the right hand. He would drag his back foot and be left completely off balance. That would make him tie up like you said. Also took power off the right hand and allowed no room for any other punch but the short left hook.
He doesn't have that problem anymore. Virgil Hunter really worked on that. He went from someone with bad balance to someone with exceptional balance. He doesn't loop it anymore or throw it at his chest anymore either. In his bout with Jean. Jean fell back on the ropes in a shell and Ward fired with 4 consecutive straight right hands. All had him return to his original position and all set up the other perfect. It was a bit of showmanship but in the past he would have thrown one right and smothered Jean.
He's stepped it up and that's what makes me so optimistic for him. I mean most prospects would not even recognize that flaw so much as completely fix it. Again, CC 17 agreed with basically everything you said.

you dont get what im saying...are you really excited to watch a replay of pbf's fights? like when you see it on hbo as a replay do u really tune it and watch it?IMO a lot of people watch mayweathers fight only because they're hoping that he would get caught by a beauty and his a$$ lands on the moon
+7 :coolclick: REaL talk my friend ;)
thanks man.. but in reality.. i know we have our own fav fighters... and we root for them.. that just how it is.. but fantasy aside.. u know how your fighter rates.. and you know well enough if hes putting his 101% every night he fights since you have followed that fighter almost his entire career...like what olympian was saying.. baldo did his best that night he fough pbf.. thats not the question tho.. did floyd do his best????

It depends on how you look at it...You can either say Floyd dominated and completely frustrated Baldo...or you can say that he took a safe route and didnt go for the KO.
