Re: MAYWEATHER HATES ON MMA
I still say a boxer does the transition way easier into kickboxing or MMA than vice virsa. THere is way less competition out there in MMA, and Kick boxing as they are not the same size. I've been in kick boxing competitions where there have been only 2-3 guys in my weight class in Canada!!! That would never happen in boxing. Also the guys in those sports rely alot on steroids.
Re: MAYWEATHER HATES ON MMA
Steroids???? ??? I assume you can back that statement up and that it isn't just same baseless ignorant rant. I can name two MMA fighters off the top of my head that have tested positive and thats Bonnar and Sylvia. I can also name two boxers Vargas and Toney. So it would seem steroids are a small issue in both sports.
In regards to boxers seemless transition: both Mercer and Botha were unsuccessful in their K1 ventures. Jeremy Williams has had some success against questionable competition in MMA so we will just have to see.
Re: MAYWEATHER HATES ON MMA
I have to completely disagree that MMA practictioners are just those who couldn't make it in boxing, even though I myself held that view just a few months ago.
People do what they love, are all UK rugby players playing it just because they can't get into professional football?
Do Rally car drivers race only becuase they can't get into Formula one?
If someone enjoys wrestling, Muay Thai, Jutitsu etc it's because thats what they enjoy doing.
It's just as absurd to think that anbody into martial arts MUST consider boxing to be the best one and that if they practise something else it's only becuase they arn't good at boxing, as it is to say anyone who plays a ball sport MUST either be a professional American Football player if living in the US or a pro soccer player if living in the rest of the world. ???
By this logic you could argue that every American heavyweight is only boxing because they couldn't make it in basketball or as a linebacker. ::**

Dana White Blasts Back at Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
A bitter exchange of words have gone back and forth between boxing's pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and UFC president Dana White
"You know, Floyd Mayweather just came out and said some stupid s--- about Chuck Liddell," White said. (He said) he'd pay a million dollars if Chuck could hang with a heavyweight boxer. How about if he pays a million dollars to see if a heavyweight boxer can fight MMA with Chuck Liddell? Or, even better, I'll put up a million dollars of my own money if Floyd Mayweather can sell more than 10 tickets without Oscar De La Hoya."

Dana White is hilarious and not shy about the shite talking... I'm interested to see how long this verbal war goes, you know Floyd will have some mess to say... ;D

Re: MAYWEATHER HATES ON MMA
about time a boxer stands up all the shit ufc been talking i been waiting for a boxer to reply boxing fans u should be happy
Re: MAYWEATHER HATES ON MMA
Chuck Lidell will be man Handle by a Boxer Heavyweight in Boxing but in the Octagon IF and only IF the boxers is down I will hear him beggin for mercy
Re: MAYWEATHER HATES ON MMA
Chuck Liddell is a "striker"...and he got KO'd by Quinton Jackson who is a mediocre boxer. So even if it took place in an Octagon...I'd have Liddell losing b/c he is not a wrestler nor a submission guy.

They call it "striking" because it's not boxing. It's a whole nother artform, most MMA punches are arm punches. Put a boxer in there and have him fight like he would in a boxing match and Liddell would take him down and destroy him. His strongpoint may not be on the mat but he would do the job against someone with no prior training.
It's all ridiculous, put most any top boxer in with most any top MMA guy and the MMA guy is going to win. And vice versa.

NO CHANCE chris byrd wins in MMA, tyson could KTFO him and end it, byrd could land like 15 unanswered bareknuckle shots and he wouldnt be phased, byrd would eventually get taken down and tapped

Chuck was a collegeiate wrestler at Cal Poly State for four years....Chuck did lose to Quinton but it wasn't b/c of Rampage's tremendous boxing. Rampage has no amateur or pro boxing background. He too was a HS and JC wrestler. Just b/c Chuck doesn't utilize his wrestling background in his offense doesn't mean he isn't skilled on the ground. The fact that he has one of the best takedown defenses and abilities to stand a fight back up is a testament to his wrestling skills. Jackson wore him down and pounded the shit out of him on the ground and in the clinch to secure the win via TKO (corner stopped the fight). Do a little homework next time.

1st of all Rampage trained with the Roger Mayweather for 4 months back in 2004.His stand up game was far better than Chucks.Yes they both were collegiate wrestlers but Chucks wrestling skills arent dominant.Chuck got rocked the entire fight! So WTF are you talking about him getting worn down,etc...You can take any boxer and teach him a basic sprawl b/c Chuck is not gonna get a submission.
Maybe you should think before you speak.
