CC#980.....
Well it goes without saying that on THAT night I scored it for ODLH, I think I had it ODLH by 1 rd. 6-5 thats of course with some AL-KEE-HALL :drinker: in my system and a lot emotions flareing.....
I've watched it again and I see it as 7 rds. to 5 for PBF. It is what it is.
If ODLH would not have abondoned the jab in the last 3 rounds IMO he would have beet PBF but he didn't.
Thats cool and that was what I was hoping for in my "Floyd why the hate thread". You are honest and know your sport. You know why Oscar lost but you still give Floyd his credit.
Thats a boxing fan ;)
Re: How did you score the fight??? (Post your scorecard)
I don't score even rounds so any round that is close I swing to my fighter. I don't think that makes me a bad person.
Re: How did you score the fight??? (Post your scorecard)
I scored it 115-113 Floyd, but I made a point to look at it from Oscar's point of view. It easily could have been 116-112 instead.
Oscar just can't get that many rounds from me, because there were too many rounds where he would throw 1 or 2 big flurries (with most punches missing) and then Floyd would control the remaining 2:30 of the round.
In some ways, this fight was similar to Jones-Tarver I, where Roy controlled most of the action, with Tarver having one or two flurries a round.
I thought ROy won that Tarver fight, and Floyd won this fight.

Re: How did you score the fight??? (Post your scorecard)
Yeah I think De La Hoya won the 8th. I think DLH even landed more clean shots that round not to mention he was the aggressor.

Thanks, Mick. I can always count on you to spread cheer. :)
For the record "I don't think that makes me a bad person." Is one of my stock replies. For instance...
I was in Blockbuster Video and I shoulder someone's granmother into a rack of Romantic Comdies. It was my girlfriends birthday and there was only one copy of Kiss Me; Hold Me. I wanted it just as bad as she did and I don't think that makes me a bad person.

De La Hoya 9 10 10 10 9 10 10 10 10 10 9 9 116
116-115 De La Hoya, but the first could easily have been even and rounds 8 and 9 could easily have been De La Hoya. Although De La Hoya was not aswalys the most effective, Mayweather's work rate was far too low IMO in too many rounds.
In classic scoring
Effective agression: Mayweather was more effective but De La Hoya still got through with more, purely by virute of higher work rate. Even
Defence: Mayweather edge, he covered up well
Clean and hard punching: Again, it is De La Hoya's work rate which allowed him to slightly edge it.
Ring Generalship: De La Hoya easily. Mayweather needed to keep the fight at ring centre but was backed to the ropes far too often.
It was really close, but I stand by my score card, De La Hoya should have won.
Oscar didn't get through with more alot of his flurries missed and round 9 or 10 can't quite remember which but that was one of Oscar's worst rounds of the fight yet you scored that even ???

First round wasn't a tie Floyd clearly won it thats why everyone else on this thread scored it for Mayweather because it was clearly his round.

CLEARLY? I think NOT! The rounds Floyd CLEARLY won were 9, 10, 11. I'll watch round one more carefully though...still " CLEARLY " is exaggerated.

No it isn't all commentators had him winning it Ledderman had him winning it even people who thought Oscar won had Mayweather winning it.
I don't see how you had it a tie it was Mayweathers round no debate needed it was his round for certain.
