First time seeing the fight, I thought the stoppage was good, he saved Zab from more punishment. Great fight!!! Cotto was just relentless, and used his own jab to work his way in brilliantly..he's a brawler, but theres alot of substance to him.

Dirrell is 6'2" and Stevens is 5'7" , dirrell switches from southpaw to orthodox alot. Boxer Vs. Slugger matchup.

CC. That's the whole point of the one dimensional thread I think, or at least what I got out of it. Cotto is a very effective boxer-puncher.

Dirrell not winning any points with the crowd ... jabbing and running, tagging Stevens enough to outpoint him but instead of just using his height and reach to his advantage, using them as his primary gameplan.

Stevens more aggressive but flailing and clumsy-looking, and allows himself to get tied up when he gets inside ... only place he can accomplish anything.

Not a very exciting fight. Would be better if Stevens could trap Dirrell somewhere and flail away.

Curtis Stevens has cornered him many times and not been able to take advantage... its hard to watch. He needs to throw more and take 2 to give 1.

And in this day and age the W isn't all that matters if you want to get your ass on HBO. Direll isn't doing himself any favours doing this.

Both these guys are sorry if you ask me. Dirrell, I will follow his career to see him get ktfo, please someone ktfo out of this guy....I hope Malignaggi doesnt run as much.

I agree ... but Dirrell is able to do this because of the height difference ... he doesn't have to really engage.

Against someone his own height who is aggressive and speedy, he couldn't do this.

Dirrell isn't pleasing the crowd but he certainly has some skills. Would like to watch him fight again where he wouldn't be able to play this way.

Not to compare Dirrell to Mayweather in terms of skill ... but this is reminiscent of Mayweather-Baldomir. Mayweather did the running game based purely on his skill, Dirrell based on both his skill and the height difference, but the displeasing running game is the similarity.

But Dirrell was wagging his ass after rounds, acting the "all-that" cool dude to the boos of the crowd. Not getting respect for his ring presence tonight.

Wacko's cable must be down. :(
