Calzaghe's career is still very much case open. If he can get a couple more big fights and win them then his reign will go down as being a very good one indeed, certainly up there with Bernard Hopkins.
However if he doesn't get the fights, or fights and loses then his record will be seen as largely inflated on a diet of veteran no hopers and journeymen.
I'll reserve judgement until I see him in the ring with Jermain Taylor or B Hop.
I'll say this much though. Only Floyd Mayweather in the entire sport has beaten all of their opponents as comfortably and unanimously as Joe.

Yes I agree completely I just mean there is no other top level fighter, who has reigned at the top as long as they have who has beaten every opponent as decisively as Floyd and Joe.
I think it's interesting though that no fighter's career more hinges on a big win than Joe's does.
Right now we just don't know how good he is, even though he's had 40 fights or so and been champion for a decade.
If he fights and beats Hopkins or Taylor he could go as high as top 3 p4p, if he loses he could drop out of the top 20!

The bottom line is Joe *duck duck* Calzaghe dodged Johnston *I feel Woods would beat Calzaghe* and was afraid to fight Jones, and is running from Kessler! He has made a reputation and a fortune from fighting opponants he knows he can beat! I quote Rocky, 'always some angle to hold onto the title, longer than I should have had it', and people are duped into thinking he is good! Calzaghe never fights anyone on a level playing field, don't delude yourselves!
Christ, he was talking about fighting Hopkins *isn't he about 90 now, and lighter*? That is cowardice, a superfight my arse! An easy fight more like!
Christ Dot Cotton could beat up Hopkins now! And Calzaghe knows it! The people who rate Calzaghe SOOO highly, are probably the people who reckoned Audley Harrison was the next world champion too, or Amir Khan will be undisputed champion too, and Hamed would beat Barrera!

i dont honestly believe Calzaghe has ducked anyone. from what i can gather, RJJ didnt want anything to do with him offers were made, Hopkins started demanding mad amounts after an amount was agreed, taylor fight could still be made, Kessler know seems to be the one back tracking on the demands, and everyone said JC was scared of Lacy till he showed the world what he was made of, dont forget JC was an underdog for that fight!
Maybe frank Warren has spoilt JC career in many way, JC should of been fighting in the US on a regular basis like Hatton, would of been alot easier to make the fights happen then.

silly man, JC has agreed to go to denmark and has signed his part of the deal, know Palle has said he want the fight moved forward 2 months for his annaversary, who F**king the fight up know...

When has Calzaghe offered Jones a fight i already replied to this Calzaghe wasn't even a name outside of UK when Jones was p4p number 1 and i don't remember any offers.

Columbo is spot on, Joe is one of the most over rated boxers, if not the most over Britain has ever produced. He has ducked everyone out their who is any good, as do all of Wank Warren fighters, naseem (i can drive for shit) Hamed, the worlds biggest scum bag was a prime example.
it the WBC sanctioned a fight with a reality T.V nobody they would be a laughing stock, but the WBO or the Warren boxing organization as it should be called can get away with it because everybody knows it's a Micky mouse title that people use a stepping stone to a real title.
Joe has know intentions of fighting outside of Wales or trying to unify the belts.

Erm, okay then, if *duck duck* Calzaghe is SO wonderful, charming and handsome, not to mention an incredibly talented boxer, why does he need ALL that preparation time? Surely, he would be ready to fight at a moments notice, erm like Kessler, and other champions! Yea cause its not like Calzaghe stroked and dragged his feet ever whilst trying to make a fight.... I have heard a myriad excuses and delays before, whether they were legit or not ;)
