Or even a fight like Cotto-Judah because they want to watch some quality boxing and have a tool to turn some friends onto the sport.

I knew I'd feel bad about my post. heheh I was forced to watch the Cotto-Judah fight online a week later, I avoided all boxing news. But some dude said it went to the 7th round..... right when I heard that, I had a bigger feeling Cotto won. He ruined it, even more, for me. Because Miguel always turns up the heat at about the 5th. ....
... It sucks watching everything online. Promoters and HBO make it hard for us.
Lol :P
There is none more cautious then i on a sunday morning about to watch a long awaited fight..
i can find the fights with my eyes closed and i dont open them till i have it on my media player :P

I like guys who come into fights looking for the KO, even if they don't have the power to get the KO. Even though Malignaggi has ZERO power, he engages and makes an exciting fight. Winky doesn't KO anybody, but I love his steady, relentless pressure combined with his defensive skill.
Many people don't agree with me on this one, but IMHO, if don't come into a fight trying to put hurting on your opponent, you aren't doing your job. For example, Floyd should have tried to stop Oscar. He dominated him, yet his fought a boring, overly defensive fight that made the outcome closer than it should have been on the cards. Had Floyd taken more chances and tried to stop Oscar instead of coasting to an easy decision, he would have won a UD by a large margin. Sure, I enjoyed his slick defense. I'm a smart, hardcore boxing fan and I appreciate that style, but to me it's lazy and a little boring. I prefer guys like Duran, Hagler, Frazier. That's why Shane Mosley is probably my favorite active boxer. He's slick and fast, but he lookes to engage. He'll take one to give three. I'm not a big fan of take 3 to give 1 guys. I love guys with defensive who still can brawl. I'd rather watch Kelly Pavlik any day over Floyd Mayweather. Pavlik could have run and pot-shoted his way to a UD over Miranda. Instead, he ate a few punches, took a few chances, and gave us all FOTY candidate.
Are you a Paul Williams fan then?
Define fan. I've seen him two or three times and I enjoy watching him, and I'm looking forward to his fight with Tony, but I like Margarito, too and I'm not sure who I'll be rooting for. I guess I'm a fan but not a fan-boy.
That's pretty much what i meant, I don't think he's a world beater yet, but his work rate is phenomenal. I love watching his fights, and I think his fight with Margarito is just what they both need.

I had to do a job helping my girlfriend being one of those annoying people that has to ask you if you would like to take a survey at a mall for a research company. There was nothing shady about it but it was still not something I ever want to do again. Then to make things worse its a real touristy mall in Orlando and there are a lot of British tourists that end up there, long story short I missed the fight the other night and overheard a bit too much. Its cool though i'd rather be screwed by chance than the promoters and television execs.
Re: y dont people like slick boxers
If it's taught in a gym and a fighter can actually execute in a ring and win a fight on points while taking minimal punishment, more power to him. In fact you should turn your hating to idiot coaches and fighters(cotto) who is 1 dimensional and when faced with a slugger who could give and recieve got broke down. Thats negligent, unprofessional, and his trainer should get locked up for not teaching him to be a "slick boxer".
BTW I think it was B Hop that told Pavlik you need to get some of that slickness that black fighters have.
I appreciate all of boxing, from the boring dudes like Valuev to the Artist like Mayweather. If your only watching for blood, guts, and wild bar room overhand rights..........Just switch to the UFC.
"Hit and not get hit!"
PS. I love slick boxer/punchers
Re: y dont people like slick boxers
agree wid that ^^
luv boxin...dont just look for knockouts and stoppages
n talkin of slick boxers i jus luv collozo
Re: y dont people like slick boxers
Will someone define "slick boxer" without the use of examples? What makes a boxer slick? What are characteristics of a slick boxer?
Overly defensive fighters are at times boring to watch even if their defensive displays are marvelous. I prefer to see fantastic offensive displays. On the other hand, a good combination of the two, is probably best.
Re: y dont people like slick boxers
I dont like slick fighters that have no power or do not try and knock people out like Winky Wright, Malignaggi, and Cory Spinks.
I like Roy because he would knock people out. Mayweather and Hopkins are a toss up, when they let their hands go they are fun to watch but can shell up, pot shot and bore the hell out of me.....
Re: y dont people like slick boxers
I LOVE slick fighters. I typically don't like fighters that aren't slick.

Well maybe:
A slick boxer is a fighter who is able to pull manuveres cleanly and is very technically good.
