Well, I have had a word....and we have secured a rematch against one of Calzaghe's toughest bouts....you betcha, Tocker Pudwill is coming out of retirement. ;)
But really, there's only one fight that will really answer all the critics and that is the bout against Kessler.
Re: Calzaghe could face Tarver!
IF JC takes a fight with Tarver,no one will respect. In fact,an respect he has been given may be lowered. What is the point of fighting Tarver who was shooled by B Hop? I'm a big fan of JC's skills, he is a tremendous fighter BUT his resume leaves ALOT to be desired and in fighting Tarver,he is not improving it at all. I have also actually heard that Tarver wants Jeff Lacy quite badly and I would much rather see that fight.
What happened to the JT fight? The Kessler fight? Surely it's not always JC's opponents that are to blame.

But will it happen in 2007 thats the big question.
Re: Calzaghe could face Tarver!
The real question to me at this point is,
will Calzaghe ever be able to sign on to a fight
anymore?
Tarver is a huge waste of time.........
He can't seem to get the deal inked against Kessler,
He wont get the deal inked with Glen Johnson,
He doesn't think enough of Froch, Bute or any
of the undefeated super middles to bother with them.
This is getting ridiculous,
JUST FIGHT KESSLER..................
why even bother entertaining less meaningful fights?
This is starting to piss me off.
Re: Calzaghe could face Tarver!
Other loss for Tarver, if this fight happens.

Oh...err...yeah! ;D I always get those two mixed up.
Tys, I was reading in boxing news that Casamayor actually believes he's 38-0 and best fighter in the world. (That's pretty much a quote by the way). haha.
As for Calzaghe. He has beaten most Super-Middles in the world over the last 10 years, and while it's been a weak division, the smart thing to do is move to were the competition is. Step up in weight. He had an offer to fight Clinton Woods for £1m which he flat turned down. Warren should have come back with something better to promote that one himself. I want to believe in Joe, but it's hard to say that he's created a perfect legacy. Anything but a threat for the rest of his career would piss me off...and I'm a brit.
Here's another one to ponder: he had an actual date set with Glen Johnson (who I'd pick to beat Calzaghe). He "injured his hand." And then never rescheduled the fight. What's that about?
He was actually suppose to fight Johnson twice. Back in 2004. Calzaghe pulled out cuz of supposed "back injury". Calzaghe fought the monster known as Kabary Salem instead. Then in 2006 it looked like they would fight again when Johnson agree to fight in Cardiff, Wales. But Calzaghe used his old trusted excuse "the hand injury" and pulled out again. His next would be against Sakio Bika. Think Calzaghe knew he couldn't beat Johnson. So he decided not to fight him. It looks like Calzaghe is starting to feel the same way about Kessler. So I expect to hear all kinds of things going wrong regarding there fight.

yeah calzaghe scared of johnson....
Lets be serious he or frank wouldn't of made 3offes and signed 3 times to fight him and pull out with injury if he was scared of him, they could of easily just stayed away from him if they didn't want any of him...
And what exactly makes you think johnson would beat calzaghe? coz he sparked out a past it RJJ?? johnson lost to ottke, now i know styles make fights, but calzaghe fought about 4 or 5 guys ottke did (cba looking at boxrec for the exact amount) and witht he exception of reid (a fight he was very green and had one hand for half of) he basicly smashed them all - why would johnson be any diffrent? his style is perfect for calzaghe, joe is at best a counter pucnher and a come forward johnson at anytime in his career would get smashed by joe over 6 or 12 rounds... ard to even see that go the 12 tbh...

Because every time Calzaghe pulled out. He instead fought a less threating opponent than Johnson. Why is that?

whilst bika was no great he had paid his dues, had been in the ring with the wbc champ and was unlucky it was ruled a NC - anyone at SMw at that time people would of found something to bitch about had calzaghe fought and won.

Yeah they would of. Cuz it's the same shit over and over with Calzaghe. Him fighting a non-threating fighter after talks of a big fight yet again fall through.

Why do you think thats it's very rare that two prime boxers get it on in the ring? Because they both want more than they are actuully worth, but you can go on and on with your pathetic British hate which is becoming quite laughable. So Lacy was an over the hill fighter was he? The bookies didnt seem to think so? But i guess your always spot on arnt you.
Here we go again. Call it whatever you want. It ain't British hate. But call it that if you want. Bottom line is this. Calzaghe has had what 42, 43 pro fights? In all those fights. And try and be honest. How many were against real live threats? Two. That's it. Jeff Lacy (he was overrated as hell but he was in his prime and considered a threat). and Robin Reid. He dominated Lacy but struggled against Reid (Calzaghe avoided a rematch with Reid like the plague). Other than that everybody else was either shot or a bum. His other best welled known opponents were Chris Eubank, Charles Brewer and Byron Mitchell. I never taught much of Eubank. Not only that but he was old and weight drained when he fought Calzaghe. Brewer was never a great fighter. He was decent in his prime. When Calzaghe fought him he had 8 losses. He had two recent losses to Sven Ottke and was almost murdered in a brutal knock out loss to Antwun Echols. As for Mitchell? Not only was he also coming off a lost to Ottke. But he was coming off life and death fights with Manny Siaca (Siaca was robbed in the rematch) and a washed up Julio Cesar Green. Mitchell was down 3 times in those 2 fights. And Calzaghe still struggled with him. So that makes 2 live threats in over 40 fights for Calzaghe. How can you, who claims to be a boxing fan, find that acceptable?
Totally agree i've been saying this for ages.
Eubank was shot and had like a week to make weight i think it was 12 pounds he had to lose.
Robin Reid was quite good but me personally i never thought he was elite level plus before the Calzaghe he got his ears boxed off by Sugar Boy Malinga and Reid looked terrible in that fight.
Im not going to bother with others because you said what i was pretty much going to say Calzaghe has only beaten like 2 good names Lacy and Eubank and some of the other decent opposition like Woodhall ect were shot former champions Calzaghe has never fought a great fighter in there prime not one.
