He's had all of 1 fight above middleweight
And last I checked, lets see,oh yeah none of those are middleweights
Or apparantly able to board a plane
How'd Howard Eastman,or Marrade Hakkar do against Bernard
Because last I checked France and Britain are part of Europe

M.Tyson (IMO a very good fighter but not a top 5/10 Heavy of all time as many seem to belive)
M.Ali (a very very talented boxer but not top 1 or 2 p4p great as i have seen written on this forum many a time)
Jermaine Taylor (has been in the p4p rankings for sometime now and i think he still is isn't he? IMO he has the skills but just doesn't use them and he wouldnt be in the top 10 p4p rankings if he wasnt American)
Jeff Lacy (Was predicted to do great things in the 168lb division by the Americans but came completely unstuck when he faced Calzaghe)
Anyways.... Im not trying to be anti American here im just stating my opinion and wanted to know if anyone else agrees/disagrees and the reasons why. Cheers
Maybee you missed the contender challenge. Who is the best p4p right now. Thats right Mayweather. Im offended.
Yeah Mayweather does deserve to be at the top im not arguing that point but B Hopkins? W Wright? J Taylor? IMO none of these three deserve to be in the top 10 p4p, in the past yes but not now. If none of these 3 were American they wouldn't be there im pretty damn sure of that. As for the Contender i wouldn't go taking that too seriously, its a tv program at the end of the day.
Dirty B-Hop, Winky and Taylor would without no doubt get their ears boxed off against a Kessler - but they are all top 10 p4p............and Kessler is not even top 25 in EU......
I doubt it.

Jeff Lacy
He had two titles,so how was he overrated?
He went through Vanderpool,Sheika,Reid and Pemberton
He didnt have enough experience for Calzeghe, but I dont see how you "overrate" the IBF-IBO champion
Very True.. Jeff Lacy is very good fighter and athlete . good people.
Re: American Boxers Overrated?
America has produced legends. anyone with basic boxing IQ knows this. Great trainers , excellent fan base.. a very warm country , warm people .. just fantastic ! respect must be given.
This does not mean other countries have not produced. Many great trainers and fighters from the UK.. Great fighters for Africa, Pacific Islands, Mexico.. On and on ………
Re: American Boxers Overrated?
I guess as an American and boxing fan I would have to ask ,is it my fault I had never heard of Joe C. until he whipped Lacey. I dont think so. Boxing is a hard sport to follow to begin with and being that I have seen only two Joe C fights isnt because I didnt want to.
Boxing dosent get press in America anymore period. Its never mentioned on the network news or in the paper sports section ,and you have to be lucky to catch it on ESPN news. You have to work to find out whats going on ,go to boxing new dedicated websites and pay big money to see a lot of the fights .If you dont have cable or satilite tv forget about boxing. I work at a company that employs over 100 people and not one of them could tell me who Winky Wright is much less Joe C. Not to mention Ricky, do you know how many Ricky H. fans there would be if people knew he existed? He is one of the coolest guys in the sport if you ask my fat lazy gun owning flag waving American Arsh. '..... ooops got carried away LOL
I guess Im saying all fighters should be hyped more or something should be done to get boxing back in the main stream. It was once the #1 sport in America and now I dont know if its in the top 5 or 6.

Re: American Boxers Overrated?
I think it's true to a certain extent these days but overall i'm not convinced. American fighters have over a hundred year history of being the best in the world, except for the lighter weights 135lb down to 112 then it's all the Latin American countries and Asia.
If you look at who is the best ever from each weight division you will find more Americans than anyone else.
Ali, Foster, SRR, SRL, Armstrong, Jones jr, Mayweather etc
There is no doubt that African Americans are not over rated, the list of great champions is endless and continues to this day.

Hopkins or Winky Wright don't deserve to be p4p?
Tell me who your p4p list is now and we can compare :)
Re: American Boxers Overrated?
There are more American world champions than any other nation so no, many other country's fighters are underrated though.
