This is what the greatest looks like when he's firing on all cylinders. Notice the triple feint he uses to back him into a corner followed by a 10+ punch flurry. When someone can keep their hands at their side for an entire fight over the course of many fights and still make people afraid to hit them only using the fear of their speed, you can't compare them to anyone. ;)
Yea he looked pretty good against a guy who was
35-13, I would hope he would.Wladimir would have ko'd a 201lb guy in about
20 seconds, no disrespect to Ali.
Purrity doesn't have more wins than losses and wlad was heading to the score cards if he hadn't gassed out. You were saying? ;D Oh wait thats my bad, the purrity lose happened when wlad was 22 so it doesn't count because he was inexperienced. ::** Ali was the heavyweight champion of the world (back when it was one belt so i guess that made him the undisputed champion) at age 22. Ali never got tired. Wlad could hold his own for 5 rounds but trust me when your opponent actually has stamina, a great chin, incredible speed, and significant power, you're gonna lose.
Accept it. That Ali would embarass anyone. If you tryed to trade with him, he's faster than you and he has a better chin. Read the bold until it sinks in how ridiculous you are saying wlad could beat ali. Lewis would put up a good fight but he believed in his own ability too much and that costed him the first rahman fight. If lewis didn't put on a near perfect perfomance, he'd be stopped.
Lewis is an ATG and would put up a great fight but ali was faster and even if you did hit him, it wasn't enough to stop him. Lewis was stopped before, twice infact. Ali's only "ko" loss is when his corner stepped in and stopped it for him and that was in the 80's when ali had no business fighting anyway. As sad as ali's carer ended, none of his fans ever had to witness him be stopped.
Wlad gassed out against purrity. How do you think he could possibly hang with a guy that could only be defeated by decision? Wlad wouldn't last 12 rounds with Ali. Wlad could catch him and knock him down and that would get him some points, but did you ever see what happened when Ali got up after being knocked down? He fights even better. You can say all you want about his "bad" style, he made it work and he beat opponents far superior to those that wlad has faced. The journeymen back then would beat the journeymen now. The division was just on a whole different level and he dominated it
past his prime.
I forgot Ali was a God, he could never be beaten. It is like talking to a brick wall. :banghead:
It boggles the mind that people can be so sure on a subject like this where there is no way of proving that Ali would beat Wladimir! So me saying Wladimir would beat Ali has the same credibility.Face it all of the current athletes today are superior to those from back in the day.I will say this agian, if Wladimir was fed a steady diet of guys that weighed 200lbs he would be knocking them all out and not going 15 rounds with them.
I noticed you have yet to say anything about purrity. Atleast ali could beat those journeyman with bad records. :P I'm not saying he's unbeatable but it would take one hell of a showing to beat him in his prime. He couldn't even go 12 rounds with purrity hell he couldn't even go 6 rounds with brewster the first go around. Its boxing not knocking people out and again i bring to your attention that 17 of ali's first 21 fights ENDED BY KNOCKOUT!!!! (since thats all you seem to be focused on) How are boxers today superior to the boxers of the past? Because they can get bigger and have less stamina? Thats an improvement let me tell you. ::**

Speaking of Byrd. One piss poor evdevor on ESPN2 and he's back in The Ring's top 10? I'm not following the logic.
Anyone?

Because he's a two time champ according to some people.
Re: Please I beg you, quit comparing today's heavyweights to THIS guy....
Ok since you have to knock someone out to be great according to all the klitschko fans lets do a little connect the dots and see who should really be the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world:
Wlad was ko'd by purrity, who was knocked out by cleveland woods, who was knocked out by Samuel M'Bendjob, who was knockout by the rightfully undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.......
Garing Lane http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php...1682&cat=boxer
Where's this mans title? He is clearly linearly better than Wlad. He beat the man who beat the man who beat the man who beat the man. Sounds like undisputed heavyweight title material to me.
Ok now that you're pissed, keep this in mind: It's boxing, not a knockout derby. Knockouts are part of the sport (as are homeruns in baseball) but they aren't the sport itself. Ali was an unconventional tactical boxer. If you think what i've said about him makes you believe that i think he's unbeatable, you need to listen to some of the stuff you say about wlad. You're trying to put him in the top 10 all time list and the man is 10-2 in world title fights against ponderous opposition historically speaking and he hasn't held a title for all that long. Let him unify before you base a religion around him, that's all i ask.
Re: Please I beg you, quit comparing today's heavyweights to THIS guy....
Ali never looked beatable in his prime and wlad has looked beatable on several occasions throughout his entire career. Ali was only in mild trouble once before 1970 at which point a majority of people will tell you he was past it. Henry cooper caught ali because he was overconfident in his ability and he was carrying cooper so his prediction for when the fight would end would be correct (and it ended up being so but only after ali learned a lesson). He only hit the deck 3 or 4 times his entire career while wlad was knockeddown 4 times in one fight and 3 in another.
Ali never had stamina issues, Wlad has. Ali's chin has never been brought into question, Wlad's has. Ali had his winning style perfected from his first fight while wlad is just now becoming technically refined 11 years into his career (a point where most boxers are either past it or contemplating retirement). So me saying Ali could beat Wlad has a lot more credibility than you saying Wlad could beat Ali.
Re: Please I beg you, quit comparing today's heavyweights to THIS guy....
No1s that stupid Ali was a freak of nature the best heavyweight evr. although joe luois was great as well and so was rocky. But Ali was the real deal man. Speed power defense and all out flashiness. Guy was blessed.No1 alive today could stand a chance aginst Ali. Klitscko? your on crack!!!

Like I said on my first day here....

I would make a case to say Lewis was as good as Ali. Lewis was special. I think it took too many people too long to realise just how good he was.

Lewis was not always that good thats why...Lennox did not become the master boxer he retired as until he hit his mid 30's....But in truth I could match him against any heavyweight in history at his peak and he would not be an underdog really...I have always been a big supporter of Lennox...I used to get blasted in forms for it.....

You keep saying this everytime yet you never give me a reason why i give you one but you never give me reason i would like to say for like 5th time i have said this to you how can they be better athletes today ?? there slower there stamina is worse there movement is worse so how the hell can they be better athletes explain that ??
Re: Please I beg you, quit comparing today's heavyweights to THIS guy....
Considering Ali was 5 inches taller then Tyson, and the same height as Holmes, had the fastest hands and best footwork of any HW Ive ever seen, was never knocked out,and as shown above had the power to just end guys at will,Im not seeing why we're up to 5 pages

Now if I'm not mistaking you're comparing the Ali in the vid to the Ali who fought Larry Holmes!?!
Thats just an idiotic statement. I'm not trying to be disrespectful but that was a stupid statement.
The Ali that fought Larry Holmes was past his best, was a shot fighter and was taking El Dopa for parkinsons he already had been developing for a time before he fought Larry Holmes so don't even try to compare that kind of crap. Ask Larry Holmes, he'll tell you he used to spar with a prime Ali(or did you forget they were sparring partners at one time?) And that Ali used to absolutely pound him in what seemed like an effortless fashion.
So don't even try to compare the Ali that fought Holmes to the Ali in that vid, it's just stupid

Yeah. It wasn't a prime Ali anyway, but for that guy to compare Ali against Holmes to the Ali in the video was just... I don't even got a word for it
