I didn't know they put the name up before the bout - exciting stuff to see it there really happening.

Something like the residence is always wrong - good they got her name right at least.

Or on the fight cards the spelling of your name or your weight division - I'm waiting for the day they mix up my gender because that's the only thing left :)

I've been Charla, I've been a heavyweight, I've been from a different place, even in running events people have assumed I'm American - only thing left is for someone to call me a dude! I think I look more like a guy than a heavyweight anyway!

Talked to her pre,pretty mellow still

Well I haven't looked at the scales for a week but I think I'm about 2 kg over bantamweight now. They just stuff up the programs when they write them - they don't look at me and assume I'm a heavyweight but it's still a bit comical.

You thought I'd gone and got fat didn't you Chris :)

Good to hear she's still mellow. I guess that's one advantage of being a relatively mature person in boxing. She's not a 17 year old bundle of nerves - she's got enough life experience to handle this without going out of her mind like a lot of first timers.

Apparantly the Hard Rock was a total circus

I've never been to a public weigh in - just rooms where they line us up and get the doc to go through us all as quickly as possible and some poor bugger(s) is skipping in the corner for an hour in a sweat suit then has to weigh in in the nud to make it.

Must be a surreal experience for her to go straight into that sort of environment so soon. Sounds like she's handling it all well though. :)

Considering the last time she fought they kept the fighters in a corral,this was a little different ;D
The only parts she seemed vaguely suprised about was all the cameras going off,and having to do autographs afterwords for the local childrens center
