Like BArrera, Morales has his detractors.I just don't know who has more.
I know it has something to do with Morrales being from the country and Barrera being from Mexico city.
But is there more to it than that? ???
Mexican rivalry in which Erik finds it hard to accept he isnt as good as Barrera
Thats one element Porky, aswell as that, they were two fighters who were battling to take the place of JJC as Mexico's favourite and things got very heated.
Barrera allegedly kept refering to Morales as a "stupid indian," because he is descended from the indigineous people of Mexico whereas Barrera is descended from the Spanish immigrants and there has been a history of animosity between the two cultures.
The rest of the feud basically boiled down to a clash of personalities and wills which was as fierce as there fights in the ring.
Because Barrera fukin punched Morales bare knuckle in the face when they were both all dressed up in their fancy suits. And like Morales says : "He's just a motherfuker, that's all". ;D
Barrera punched him because Morales told Barrera to go phuk his mother. I would have punched the hawk nose pr1ck too. In Mexico, when you say "chinga tu madre", this means they are telling you to go phuk your mother and is possibly the most disrespectful thing you can say to another Mexican. Those my friends are fighting words unless you are a punk.Quote:

that hatred gave us some great fights though
So many theories about why they dislike each other so intensely. But it was their hatred for one another that made their trilogy so memorable. People from TJ have a strong hatred for people from Mexico City. That along with the fact that they are both incredible competitors/warriors who wanted to lay claim as the best Mexican fighter...fueled their rivalry. But i always have an issue when some people keep say Marco just sucker punched Erik at the press conference...from most accounts...Eric said something derogative and Marco responded. Ultimately though, I truly think Barrera always was able to get into Morales's head. He was just the smarter fighter. Otherwise Erik would have used his length to his advantage in their three fights. Instead, he did exactly what Barrera wanted...come inside to trade. They are two of my all time favorite fighter...but it obviously seems that Erik has had a harder time letting go of their feud than Marco has.
Barrera is the one who said those things first.Quote:

Why do some people feel the need to bring in Pac anytime there is a discussion about Barrera vs. Morales. Who cares? Bottom line when analyzing their trilogy is how they fought against each other. And against each other...Barrera won 2 out of 3. If Eric could have beat Pac all three times...at the end of the day...he knows it doesn't change the results of his fights with Marco.
It was a joke, put your rattle back in the pram. ::**Quote:
