What because these names you mentioned that were considered *threats* i just proved you wrong so you act childish ?? wow very mature of you Fenster.
Just a joke son, don't take everything to heart. ;)
You didn't prove me wrong. All you're doing is expressing an opinion. The guys listed were world class fighters. Fact. The very fact Calzaghe is able to outclass these types of guys is what sets him apart as an ELITE world class fighter.
Well i wouldn't call them world class i would call them step below world class people like Woodhall, and Brewer would come under that category but really and truthfully were Woodhall, Brewer, considered threats at all ?? most of the former world champions Calzaghe beat were past it or just not considered threats i mean did anyone think he would lose to Mitchell, Woodhall, or Brewer did anyone really considered these guys of a much threat ?? because fighters like Brewer, Wooldhall, Mitchell claim to fame was in losing efforts.
Of course those guys were threats, they were all proven quality performers, just cause Calzaghe started favourite, and won, doesn't mean they were S*** fighters. It's what sets Calzaghe apart as the ELITE supermiddle of his time. I think you're confusing world class fighters with the very ELITE world class (Hopkins, Jones etc). He tried for fights with Hopkins/Jones but they didn't come off.
It's unfair to bust apart fighters records and it can be done to just about anyone.
Im not getting anything confused most of these guys i mentioned are more remembered for there losing efforts than winning ones and busting Calzaghe's record apart is acceptable because with that many title defences to only have old shot Eubank and prospect Lacy as your best wins something isn't right is it ??
You're confused by what I consider a world class fighter. I agree those quality former "world" champions are more remembered for losing.. losing to the ELITE fighter Calzaghe ;)
What was the first Calzaghe fight you saw?

That 'Old Shot' Eubank performed better against Calzaghe than in 80% of his wins and I really mean that. And he didn't look too shot when he stepped up 2 weights and twice nearly beat Carl Thompson ;)
Prospect Lacy - Bla bla bla - what a crock of sh1t!!!!

Re: Benn: Calzaghe far too good for Brit/Euro
If that's not worth a bet, I don't know what is.
He doesn't look bad, does he? - No, he looks great.
He'll do you proud
You reckon that's what people should do for me, Gary? Do me proud?
It's what you deserve.
Pull your tongue out of my arsehole.
Dogs do that.
You're not a dog, are you?

And a shot (for super-middleweight) James Toney and prospect B-hop is all Jones has on his record.

Well whatever you say it still wasn't a prime Eubank and he was called in on weeks notice wasn't he because Collins pulled out ??
Lacy was a prospect 21-0 his only impressive win was against Reid other than that he had shown major flaws like against Vanderpool who was ahead in there fight and against Sheika who went 12 rounds and gave him very tough arguement this is same Sheika that lost to the tomato can Scott Pemberton.

Shot at SuperMiddleweight what are you talking about ?? Toney was 44-0 and was one of the top 5 p4p in the world at that time please do not try and compare Jones's win over Toney to Calzaghe's win over Eubank.
Uhh Hopkins had more pro fights than what Jones had so your point means nothing.
And have you ever heard of Virgil hill or Montel Griffin ?? because if your saying he only has Hopkins and Toney on his record you know nothing.

So you've followed his entire world title reign? What supermiddles should he have fought to have earned your respect during that time?

I followed most of his career to be honest Fenster there wasn't really anyone at Calzaghe's weight class this is why i've said it isn't Calzaghe's fault if you have weak division not much you can do about it i know Ottke wouldn't fight him he was bricking it i wouldn't of minded if he would of fought Markus Beyer right after he beat Woodhall not sure that fight could of been made Calzaghe did say he was going to move up to Lightheavyweight because he found it hard to make Supermiddleweight i don't know why he didn't but if he beats Kessler i'll give him props.

So why are you slagging off his level of comp if you recognise he's beat the best fighters in his division during his reign?
