Re: Chris Arreola - Future Heavyweight Champ?
...Arreola let's his opponent lead too much....let Wlad pop you with the jab 3 times in a row and I'm sure you won't be ko-ing him anytime soon.
Arreola is good but all anyone can hope to be in the division right now is second fiddle to Wladimir!
He gets hit too much, he's not THAT powerful, and he isn't a defensive genius....Arreola is either going to get lucky, wait for someone to get old, or just be an average fighter

I seen Arreola fight twice. Looked a little sloppy to me both times, and despite his high KO percentage he doesnt have much power. He is mostly beating up on nodbody's
Who can say in a couple years. He has good size and alright speed but he hasnt fought any good opposition yet
Can you name a prospect who came up and didn't face nobodies? Arreola is facing bums. But he's doing what he suppose to do with them. He's knocking them out. But it is time he steps up the competition a little.
right on.

lmao at "someone like peter"
Who the hell has peter dominated? jeremy williams? lmao...
Give this kid a chance...with alil time he might put a dent in the hwd. And probably have more talent that overrated samuel peter.
Peter dominated James Toney. Sure, Toney is a tubby, short heavyweight, but he is still very slick despite being 30+ pounds overweight. Peter showed a lot of growth in their second fight.

During that 2nd fight with " lights out" I asked my self,Is it the fact that in this particular fight Peter Is making it easy to like Him with his skills here or the fact Toney makes it so easy to root against him with his lack of respect to fans, himself, and boxing?
I think Peter has grown and is boxing much better.Toney may have been a fat slob but he is also one of the slickest versitile fighters of Rescent memory. Arreola Is not ready for the big time,Not yet.
Re: Chris Arreola - Future Heavyweight Champ?
....and to think people on this very site thought that James Toney would beat Wladimir Klitschko...hahahaha
Re: Chris Arreola - Future Heavyweight Champ?
Eddie Chambers would beat Arreola. Arreola throws plenty and has some good skills, but Chambers would pick him apart, like he did to Brock. Arreola is a good fighter, but he's not the savior of the division or even a legit future challenge to Wlad.
Re: Chris Arreola - Future Heavyweight Champ?
Forgot about this ol'crusty thread,Cobweb BUMP... ;D Never did answer the question :-X. Full deserved props for crushing Witherspoon, went in early and Took that victory. His punches look at times choppy,1st KD almost looked like an elbow? The stoppage was going to happen regardless of crappy ending.Great win to get him on the big show but as determined ,willing and resilient as he is I can not see him amongst the top ranks right now.Nice heavy hands, went to the body and a thick beard but looks like he can be out hustled and pretty hittable, not sure about his long distance conditioning ...could be a big problem.
With the easy availability of Belts out there,I give him a hitters chance in the early rounds against many guys and shows nice willingness & ability to finish. Will be very exciting to watch for as long as he go's.
Re: Chris Arreola - Future Heavyweight Champ?
He's got the requirements. Yes, I believe so.
