Frozensolid702 is almost to Miguel Cotto what Danny G is to Floyd Mayweather. Emphasis on almost. :)
I agree with you that Shane doesn't maximize his physical gifts. This is especially true after he left lightweight where his incredible speed and power couldn't be matched. That being said...he still is a better skilled and much faster fighter than Cotto. With power being about even in my opinion...if these two slug it out....i gotta go with the fighter who has faster hands, better skills, and a better chin...Mosley. And while i also agree that Shane tends to go flatfooted at times to slug it out...he still is a much more fluid and fleet footed boxer than Cotto. At this point in their careers the only advantage i see Cotto having is his youth....which can be a BIG advantage. But as i said before...unless Shane grows old in this fight i see him having a bit too much for Cotto to handle. Should be a great fight.Quote:

I don't understand how fans keep calling Cotto a one dimensional fighter. Perhaps it is because he comes forward all the time. But Cotto can come in with the jab, the left hook to the body, the right, he cuts off the ring better than anyone out there today, he switches from righty to lefty and is effective when doing so, and, if necessary, as was the case against Abdullaev, Cotto can box going backward as he did during the entire fight. Looks to me like Cotto has many dimensions to his game.
Cotto is the one fighter Frozen Solid fears would end Floyd's legacy.Quote:

Just look how Frozensolid fell apart when Tony was on the prowl.
Cotto is coming for your boyfriend Frozensolid. Tell him to run back into hidding once he is done running from Hatton in the ring and putting the fight fans to sleep for 12 rounds.
Pretty Boring Floyd but very entertaining dancer.
As seen on dancing with the stars ;)
Shane Mosley has too much in all departments for Miguel Cotto.
Speed
Power
Footwork
Ring Generalship
Chin
The only things Cotto has that are close to Mosley are strength and heart.
Cotto has only fought a couple of top guys in a shopworn Zab Judah and Paulie Malignaggi who is not a noted puncher and has minimal ko power.
Also, Cotto has been badly rocked by lesser opponents.
Demarcus Corley rocked him badly
Ricardo Torres had him all over the shop.
Look at Mosley's record:
De La Hoya
Winky Wright
Fernando Vargas
Vernon Forrest
Lois Collazo
David Estrada
Mosley has mixed in better company and the key is, bigger opponents who hit harder and can box better.
I think Cotto's come forward style is taylor made for Shane to pick him off at range and hurt him like never before. He is easy to hit and his chin won't stand up based on his previous performances.
Shane will win inside 8.
Largely agreein with u here, dont doubt that, but the fact is Mosely is gettin on in years. Add the allegation of steroid use and mayb shane wont be as good as previous formQuote:

No one has beaten Cotto and IMO no one will beat him without taking some damage from him...look at Malinaggi, Branco, and Judah.....those guys got BEAT UP and I know Shane doesn't swell badly or usually cut but he's going to feel some pain because Cotto brings it with every punch
I said it before in another thread and I'll say it again here. Mosley should be capable of beating Cotto, but he is gonna have to be ready and willing to take a beating in rout to winning the fight. Is he still willing as this stage in his career? I'm not so sure he is but time will tell.
If there is one thing that Cotto has shown that Mosley has not it is his ability to come back from adversity and being hurt to win a fight. We know Cotto can handle being hurt. The questions are, can Cotto hurt Mosley? If so, can Mosley handle it? The fact is we don't know. What we do know is that when you step in the ring with Cotto, win, lose or draw, you are going to take a beating. Can Mosley take it in order to win?
