Re: Juan Diaz: Bring on Pacquiao!
Yes it was 115-113 for me favor of Morales. I was just thinking that had the cut been properly called by Cortez as headbutt PAcquaio would not have suffered with it through the 12 rounds. It could have been a draw. Also had Pacquaio not been incapacitated with his right eye because of so many blood flowing on it, it could have been a draw also.
Yes, I've also become a fan of Morales after that. I truly believe during that time that he was better than Barrera.
Anyway, we are both fans of Morales.

Juan hits harder at a higher weight. He throws constant punches. I know Pac does the same but I think his flaws would be found out against a guy that just keeps coming.
Are you trying to say manny pac doesnt hit hard? He stopped Eric Morales, an all time mexican great in 3 rounds. He might have been over but thats a bloody acheviement. Manny keeps coming forward as well, i think hes improved a lot and throwing both the right and left hands now would put JMM in more trouble because i know hes got a lot better, as for JMM hes still amazing, but i dont think hes improved THAT much since there last fight.
If you read what I said again, you'll see I said "Pac does the same". He hits hard...but I think Juan would hit harder at the weight. I see the fight being alot like Morales-Pac I. Pac would give it his all but come up short.
So many factors to consider in Morales vs Pac 1. 1st, Pac had a bad cut during that fight. Joe Cortez called it legal cut when in fact there was a headbutt. I've watched again the fight and Pacquaio was truly distracted with only one eye in the fight (blood was all over). 2nd, pac was forced to use the winning gloves instead of his cleto reyes gloves. That affected his effectiveness.I suggest, you watch the 2nd fight when everything was fair. That's the Pac that Diaz will be facing. If you don't have the fight, i can post it for you.
No I have them both. I love both fights. But I don't think Pac is as good now as he was in that fight. I think he has too many distractions and eventually he's going to let it affect him in the ring. Pac on top of his game would have knocked Barrera out again. Fighting someone like Diaz, I don't like his chances.
Re: Juan Diaz: Bring on Pacquiao!
Bzkfn, i had that feeling that Pacquaio was somewhat distracted in the Philippines. During his training, he would usually fly to Manila from Cebu for some TV guestings. I think his handspeed had somewhat deteriorated. He's not as fast during his first fight with Barrera. During the first fight he was throwing 5-6 sharp combinations. Now he barely throw 3 combinations.Maybe because Pacquaio was trying to put power on his right hand so it lost its reflexes and speed.
If Pacquaio continues his vices and lack of concentration in training, I will not be surprised if Valero KOs him if they meet in the ring.

Thanks, for seeing what I was saying there. I just feel against a guy that throws alot of power shots per round like Diaz does, you have to be 100% focused. If Manny keeps on like he is, and I believe he will, he'll be punished by a young, hungry fighter on top of his game.
Re: Juan Diaz: Bring on Pacquiao!
CC,Bruce,Im glad your a Morales fan. He probably gpt your respect from the way he fought v Manny, even in the third fight when he was shot?
Re: Juan Diaz: Bring on Pacquiao!
cc back Gamo +2089. Morales earned my respect because he always fights as a true warrior. I think the whole Philippines admire him. He has two tv commercials here.

the 2nd manny-eric fight ?
Yes Tam. The 2nd fight between Pacman and Morales was so exciting. As a PAcquaio fan, that was the most exciting fight of Pacquaio.
yes ive seen it, it was awesome and manny showed real heart in the fight. If he faught like that against anybody at superfeatherweight they would be stopped IMO.

Dam right,Morales, was a true warrior.Yeah I think alot of Filipino's become Morales fans/respected him after their trilogy. Vise versa too, I'm pretty sure Manny earned alot of Mexican/latino fans respect with his showing. I actually had the pic of Erik raising Manny's arm after their third fight as my sig,it was symbolic,a passing of the torch.
Re: Juan Diaz: Bring on Pacquiao!
I have been watching it over and over again. whew. Even if you're not a boxing fan but have seen the fight, you would truly love boxing. did the 2nd fight won an award?like fight of the year award?

It did not win an award but most fight fans who saw it would say it was top 5 in the best fights of the year. Me personally,it was top 3. Amazing fight.
Re: Juan Diaz: Bring on Pacquiao!
it was actually breathtaking. i like the punches of Morales. they were crisp and sharp.
Ice, do you have a link of the Somsak Sithchatchawal vs Mahyar Monshipour fight. Is it in you tube?
