Re: Who will be seen as the greatest fighter between 2001-2010
The idea that Kelly Pavlik could be undisputed heavyweight champion is absolutely hilarious. The top heavyweights nowadays weigh about 240-250 pounds.
Re: Who will be seen as the greatest fighter between 2001-2010
Lennox Lewis.
Maybe David Haye might get to claim the P4P title.

Lol, that cracked me up mate. Have a CC....and tell Pavlik to lay off those donuts....he's got a lot of weight to strip off. :p
Lol, CC back Super. I'll tell him if I see him, if there's anything left to see of him ;D
haha come on guys quit busting my balls. i was just saying if he moves up to lightheavyweight or even heavyweight, he could be that good to be undisputed at those weights too. Like I said pavlik imo is a legend in the making.
:coolclick: to both of you though, that thought of pavlik as flyweight champ is funny ;D
Pavlik undisputed champion at Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight? Talk about overrating a fighter. Some of these groupies really have little to no boxing knowledge at all. Use your F****** head. Pavlik-Chad Dawson. Pavlik-Jean Marc Mormeck. Pavlik-Wladimir Klitschko. Who in there right mind would even think Pavlik can beat those guys?
as of now your right, no way pavlik beats those guy. but like i said, he could be in a legend in the making. His a big guy and his still young, you never know where this guys power can take him.
Super Middleweight, tops. If even that. Pavlik has good power with an average chin. At Light Heavyweight and above his a** gets murdered.
Yeah I agree. He could possibly go to lightheavy but no way any higher. Super is where he'll end up and he'll get tested there. His frame is really thin and scrawny, no way he can put on the mass to go cruiser or heavy, and his metablism is probably very high too where he'd have to consume way too much food. It is kind of stretching things a bit Julius Rain. :-\
Re: Who will be seen as the greatest fighter between 2001-2010
Floyd with out a doubt.
Cotto and Hatton even with a win over Floyd don't even come close.

yea maybe so, but are the heavyweights looking any better nowadays? they do average like what 240 but out of shape and inconsistant. who knows maybe the heavyweights get worst and pavlik gets bigger and stronger. As of now it does seem farfetch but it does not have to happen pavlik can just be a great fighter at supermiddleweight.

I actually agree that Haye can be P4P one day. But heres my thoughts on your comment.
Well eagle to be fair 'The Cat' was no slump when they met he was past his best days but look what he did to close out his career. Also 'The Cat' can punch and hes know for devastating KO's and a big heart.
Haye was young when he met 'The Cat' and I think he's people wanted to see where Haye stood at just 10 fights.
Well they got their answer they found out 'The Cat' still had a life left and threw in the towel and got Haye out of there before he took more punishment.
Look at some of the fighters 'The Cat' beat in his last run: Rothman & Haye both at that time were considered top prospects and while I think 'The Cat' did damage Rothman, Haye is another story I think walking away with a loss is better then walking away with a damaged career. Haye learned a lot in that fight against 'The Cat' as well as he has learned in fights with Mock and Abdoul where he visited the canvas in one of the fights and he had to win a decision in the other and learned that you can't KO everybody.
Re: Who will be seen as the greatest fighter between 2001-2010
For Haye to be P4P he'll have to unify the Cruiserweight and Heavyweight divisions. Good luck with that. He might have the punch to do it. But I doubt he has the chin or stamina to do it.

I think the one worry I have about Haye is his stamina. His only 12-rounder was at a very slow pace, and put me off him for a while, especially in a fight where I thought Haye could have gone out and KO'd his man if he really stepped on the gas. As for chin, he proved a lot of that last time out, where he did ship a couple of big punches, and looked in a bit of bother, but pulled through to win well, getting cut for the first time in his career in the process.
The punch is his biggest asset at the moment, and we'll see against Mormeck whether he can use it intelligently as well as just banging people out of his path.
