Re: Perfect shot or lucky punch...?!?
Ricky vs. Castillo was 50;50 when viewed in context, but seemed perfect as it showed Ricky returning to true body punching.
Taylor Pavlik in round two saw Taylor land a lucky punch which hurt Kelly
21 Days left...There's only One Ricky Hatton!

Ricky turned his body stepped to the side and BAM! perfect shot.
Re: Perfect shot or lucky punch...?!?
sprott - harrison was lucky
Re: Perfect shot or lucky punch...?!?
Danny Williams vs that guy in the fight where Williams knocked that guy out with a dislocated
shoulder...Perfect...
Re: Perfect shot or lucky punch...?!?
Has anybody mentioned Brewster/Wlad?
I know some people around here think that was all about stamina, but too me it was a legit KO...from a very lucky punch.
Re: Perfect shot or lucky punch...?!?
The marciano Walcott fight is up for debate i'd say...the Suzie q was at the time of the punch obviusly aimed for the chin...but you can see that walcott is about to throw the left hook...Now in every book ive read and every article Walcott says he tried to throw the left and just froze.his body wouldn't do it....obviusly by this time a little late to dodge one of the most famous and hardest punches ever thrown.
Funny aswell when Rocky hits him again when Walcott is clearly out cold....rocky was a dirty bastard in the ring lol

Brewster was lucky that Vlads body just said aloa and good bye...
Funny that you take this example, where Vlad vs Sanders would have made much more sense...
Perfect left...and Sanders had more of those...

Nah, Sanders wasn't lucky, Sanders was perfect. Brewster was lucky. Of course, Wlad has been on the giving end of some perfect punching...Brock and Byrd to name two.

They both make perfect sense. Yeah, Wlad was gassed when he got hit with the luck punch, but if Brewster doesn't land that lucky punch, Wlad doesn't get KTFO, and that was a wild, lucky-ass punch Brewster landed. The Sanders one was just perfect.

Whats your opinion ?!? And some more examples would be great...
If you throw a punch and it hits someone thats not lucky. After all why would a boxer throw a punch without meaning to KO there opponent. Isnt the aim of boxing to hit your opponent. its like a basketball player throwing the ball from one end of the court and scoring three points. He obviously meant to score the points so he's not lucky. Obviously the chances of him scoring a basket is slim, but if you try something and it works thats not lucky.

Well...somehow the term "lucky punch" must have developed...

All the people who fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. probably came up with it.
Re: Perfect shot or lucky punch...?!?
No such thing as a lucky punch in boxing. You throw the punch, you mean to hit the other guy, hard, it lands, he falls down. Where is the luck in that?
