Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr Vs Some Of The Great Superfeatherweights
Arguello would be befuddled by Mayweather 130, Chico had that ability to land the big punch and he couldn't find Mayweather, Genaro was an accurate fighter, and Mayweather was coming forward that fight and Genaro had a hard time hitting him. Even if Arguello could hit PBF there is no reason to believe he would be able to take MAyweather out who has proven to be durable. Arguello was a good fighter, but he doesn't ahve what it takes to beat Mayweather, he was too slow

The thought of you seeing Alexis & Chico as similar boxers along with your previous comments about Alexis really tells me how much you know about Alexis.
As I said before "timing" can top speed, unless you consider Chico a timing puncher?
(Dear god I hope you don't)
Chico was a big puncher who knew he had the punch and wailed away once he landed. Chicos was never a puncher who timed you like Alexis. For the record Alexis is much more then just a "good" fighter as you say. He's an all-time great fighter.

PBF vs. Arguello - Alexis wins this one by late TKO
PBF vs. Azumah - Azumha all the way here by Decision
PBF vs. Morales - PBF by a landslide
PBF vs. MAB - PBF in a close fight decision by like 2 rounds
PBF vs. PAC - PAC wins this via SD
PBF vs. ODLH - PBF by UD, pretty comfortable.
PBF vs. JMM - PBF by MD, very close call here.
PBF vs. JCC - PBF by UD.
The thought that people are using the MTaylor fight as reference to how a PBF vs. JCC fight would go is pretty amazing. I mean right off the bat I can tell you it was at 2 div. up from what these potential matchups are taking place. That's like me saying MAB would beat PBF because look how ODLH jab landed against him and we all know how great of a jab MAB so there. MAB wins because of that, not taking into consideration it was at another weight.
Good insight.. a fair and balanced appraisal here .. I like your style Mick cc 8)
maybe even a pacman win via stoggage if Floyd got too cute at the wrong time.

CC#978 LG....
These potential matchups always lead to if's & but's mainly why I don't comment much on them unless I feel I can really add something to the matchups. Spot on LG a Pac stoppage wouldn't be out of the question as he himself can time that left hand very well.

Pac is too one dimensional no way he beats Mayweather at 130.

what mick said Iceman !
Pacman has more dimension then you might think.. at his best Pac is extremely quick on the draw like a mongoose in an out, Heavy handed, has the Midas touch, a good chin, fast hands and timing then toss in the southpaw advantage, equals a recipe for disaster for Mayweather. Mayweather is too smart to have taken a match like this, it would have never happened.

Pacquiao doesn't have great timing he does same thing over and over jab jab straight left hand jab jab straight left hand. An old shot Barrera was boxing on even terms with Pacquaio through 9 rounds by being defensive and constantly moving and Mayweather is much faster than an old shot Barrera has better defense and is better in every department. Timing beats speed in some cases but not in this case Mayweather is very quick but is also one of the best defensive fighters ever, and why wouldn't Mayweather have fought Pac at 130 ??

even terms??.. your kidding me.. Pacman smoked Barrera both times.
Mayweather has great natural talent no question. yet Floyds true talent lies within the match making. with the right match making Floyd will always shine. nothing wrong with that !!! smart business decisions giving the illusion of invincibility. that's talent in and of itself. Stay away from the Margaritas , Cintron, and Williams’s cause they will lay the wood to the boy, trust me.
I think he might have bitten off more then he can chew with this Hatton fellow,? Hatton has the right style to toss a fork in the works . Should be intresting match-up . cc enjoyed the debate !
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr Vs Some Of The Great Superfeatherweights
Like Lords says, its all about management and a good matchmaker. It hides many things.

The 2nd fight i meant and it was an even match after 9 rounds.

Mayweather has beaten some of the best opposition of his era and you bring up Cintron ?? what has he proven ?? he struggled with a journeyman in his last outing and quit like a punk against Margarito Mayweather would destroy Cintron. Margarito's punches are too wide plus he is too slow he would get a boxing lesson off Mayweather, Williams would give him fits though.

I don't think so, Hatton has some nice tools like using angles on inside and wherever he plants his feet he can hit you at any angle he also puts his full bodyweight into the shot. But all the good things i mentioned are for inside work this will not be an inside fight Mayweather will be moving and countering Hatton i think Hatton will win some rounds when he gets Mayweather on the ropes and steals some rounds based on workrate but overall Mayweather will be too much and Mayweather will win 116-112 115-113 116-112 imo.
I always enjoy a debate with you LG cc back.
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr Vs Some Of The Great Superfeatherweights
Thinking back on Pac vs. MAB II, by the sound of the bell for round 7, I think Pac had the fight already won.

the reason I bring Cintron into this , and yes I believe Kermit would spark Mayweather inside the distance as would Margarito and especially Paul Williams. Like Scrap said.." smart match making hides many things.".. Floyd never gives anything away pre fight, almost always has the reach advantage in his matches, " ring size" in his favor
The reason I pick those fellows to beat Mayweather comes down to a fighters mindset. Mayweather style and mindset is not brave enough to beat these type fighters, (I am not saying this to sound disrespecting) Mayweather has some serious talent, and when he has a guy completly out classes like Gatti. he looks like a world beater. However giving away height and reach means Floyd would be forced to engage , staying on the outside and pot shot won't get it done. He would be beat to the punch all night long on the outside , and coming forward he would be jacked becuase all 3 of the blokes like a good inside battle. its just not Mayweather’s strength. Floyd’s style and mindset demand that he has the advantages of height, reach and the ring size you can land a Cargo plane in.
when Floyd is fighting on someone else’s terms vs. prime opposition , like Sugar Ray Learned did with Tommy Hearns , I would have a much higher opinion of Floyd being considered an all-time great. Right now IMO his greatness is just a byproduct of smart matchmaking. Smoke and mirrors.

LG can you please tell me what is so bad about the opposition im about to list ??
Oscar De La Hoya
DeMarcus Corley
Carlos Manuel Baldomir
Zab Judah
Genaro Hernandez
Diego Corrales
Angel Manfredy
Jose Luis Castillo x2
Carlos Hernandez
Jesus Chavez
Phillip N'dou
Ok you can pick apart some of the names i listed but i don't see why Mayweather's opposition is so slated he has beaten some quality opposition throughout his career.
I really don't understand what you see in Cintron he quit against Margarito looked terrible against a journeyman in his last outing Mayweather would destroy Cintron.
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr Vs Some Of The Great Superfeatherweights
Yea after that brake down with Margarito i do not see Cintron breaking Floyd down and if Margarito beat Williams and stays strong i give him a chance against the pretty boy like to see the fight. Also I have to say i think i would not give PBF a chance against Sugar Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns and you can call me biased to that but we keep getting on Floyd case but it not fair to compare him to other great welters starting the weight remember PBF is a 130 fighter SFW so there.

for the most part they are shorter fighters , in some cases old fighters years removed from their best Geno Hernandez for instance. , these fighters usually had less reach , fighting a slick boxer in a airplane hanger. you can look at that list and see easy wins for Mayweather not knowing the results. Its the match making. Styles make fights.. bad style and circumstances for the other guys.
Put those matches in a 16 footer instead of a 25 foot rings and you would have some different results in some of those matches. Trust me !
I had Castillio beating Mayweather by the way ;) of Oscar its .AGE ~ Delahoya simply too inactive, had Oscar been a few years younger, fighting 3 fights a year he would have been in the proper condition , he would have beat Mayweather clearly. I still had Oscar winning by a few rounds .. ;)
