This is boxing of course Hopkins can win with the correct gameplan. If he can find a way to slow Joe and frustrate him he is halfway there. I'm going with a UD win for Joe though.

Well I guess you're blinded by your affection for your fighter so I won't go any further with you on this. What I will do however is challenge you to make a sig or cc bet or whatever if hopkins ever stops playing games and takes the fight.Quote:

As for Ske if you look at the posts above your own you'll see I gave him a coolclick and said it was wrong that people were having a go at him just because he supported BHop.
So in summation, 'what is there not to understand?'
In your case a lot ;D
That's good.Quote:

Anybody who sees this as anything but a close fight is stupid. Calzaghe should and probably would win a UD on workrate alone, but anyone who says Joe C wins easy is deluded. Hopkins knows all the tricks and is old and crafty enough to make Joe look bad. If he has to start using elbows and headbutts to win he will.
Not even a prime Middleweight RJJ could destroy Hopkins, and Bernard is a far more complete fighter now. Joe C is great but he is not the fighter MW RJJ was.
Calzaghe would win a UD against Hopkins at this point in their careers, I would still like to see Joe Balls fight Kessler again in 2008 or Pavlik intsead of Hopkins.
Hopkins has all the tricks in the book but it won't be enough for a man in his mid forties to overcome Calzaghe.
Yup, his sarcasm went right over my head first read through. Stupid, incapable me.Quote:

Better get it right the first time, every time, when Bilbo's on board. Humble apologies for my humanity.
But back to the topic ... I'd love to see Hopkins beat Calzaghe. I think he could. Not so sure he would. I think he could have beat Taylor, too, twice, but he didn't.
If anybody, and I mean anybody, bet on Manfredo get somebody to take over power of attorney for them, because they are obviously no longer competent to manage their own finances and need protection from the world, and themselvesQuote:

Why was Winky carefully chosen, because he had to move up to a weight he'd never fought at?? Wouldn't Calzaghe ??? How bout Taylor, when Hopkins fought him... THe carefully picked undefeated olympian with KO power and a great jab 15+ years younger than Hopkins? Or Tarver... It's easy to say whatever you like about him now, but when Hopkins announced the fight noone gave him a chance, he was moving up 15 lbs in weight to fight the linear, undisputed champ who dethroned Roy Jones jr.. Sure Tarver didn't look great in the Johnson fights, but Calzaghe's had less than impressive outings as well. Just recently against Bika, he hardly looked like a fighter who would "easily dominate" Hopkins. Hell if that was his last fight instead of Mikkel people on this forum would probably have it as a pick em fight. It's not as though since he beat Kessler he'll just steamroll anyone else he likes from now on.. He's not getting younger, and he's never fought at light heavy. Every fighter has to fall off at some point. Granted Hopkins day is likely to come sooner than Joe's, and for the record I would put Calzaghe as a wide favourite, but nothings a given, especially when your talking about Hopkins. It's dumb how people are just giving him no chance, and no credit.Quote:

Does anyone think he cant? You dont get top 5 p4p on reputation. Its too difficult to predict for me. I have it almost even money right now but Hopkins maybe with a 5% lead I'd have it 55 to 45 just because I think Hopkins has more tricks up his sleeve. Joe's no slouch though, and if the fight turns out to be exciting it'll be his doing.
Yeah, I think he has a damn good chance. Hopkins record vs. Southpaws is pretty damn good. And no matter what Joe thinks he's gonna do to make Hopkins fight at a fast pace, Hopkins will fight at HOPKINS' pace.Quote:

If Hopkins cant counter punch, then he does not have much to offer offensively and he will go into his defence mode and lose a wide points decision.
Yes i agree nobody with an once of sence would have bet on Manfredo , i mean the guy has been arrested on two occasions for "impersonating a boxer "Quote:
