ITs not that big of a discrace... Manny has been weighing in at 144 at 130 so he too big for 130 or will be soon. ALso should he not be allowed an easy fight in David Diaz before going on to Hatton, can't he come back down. Besides Kats isn't very good, Casamayor hasn't done anything ground breaking in forever... so the only person I think he should face at 135 is Juan Diaz, but fighitng Hatton could lead to a 144 weight match against Mayweather who naturally weighs 150 which is where I would put Pacquaio's walking around weight at. Look what Henry Armstrong did moving up weights while being way smaller, look at Robinson going up... Pacquaio is building his legacy, and Hatton is showing balls for wanting to face a guy that matchup wise causes a lot of problems for him speed, southpaw, power, accuracy, endless stamina.

Hatton needs to fight Witter. Its time. And Manny needs to worry bout JMM, cus IMO Marquez is gonna outbox his ass.

I can see your points about the $$$ lefthooktothebody and they are valid but 3 things:

Aren't Manny and Ricky both millionaires by now?If not,they are dam comfortable.

If all fighters are going to have this mentality,then rather than face tough guys in their weight classes,they'll jump numerous weight classes all the time.What if Isreal Vazquez had jumped to 130/135,passing over Rafa Marquez.

Manny is going to fight Davi Diaz,win the paper title and we are going to have to hear how amazing he was at 135,winning the title there.DAvid Diaz is an average fighter.There much much more worthier challengers.You're telling me you'd rather see David Diaz/Ricky,rather than Juan Diaz/Guzman?

I dont think people complained about Hopkins fighting De La Hoya or Ruiz fighting Jones.

Truth is the only difference will be strength, Manny would carry his speed and work rate

i see it as an easy fight for manny he throws striaighter punches and is far quicker on his feet and withhis hands i think manny would be great to watch bigger and stronger at 140 more muscular and prob more comfortable

Fighters will, and have always jumped weight when the options above them pay better than the ones in there own division. No one complained about Mosley completely leaping over 140 and going from 135 to 147 to fight Oscar. And a fighter already being a millionare has nothing to do with anything. These guys bust their @ss in the gym and training camps (and pretty much for their whole lives for that matter), that they've earned the right to accept the highest offer they get. It's not like this will become an epidemic in boxing, it will only happen on rare occasions.

hatton is too big for pacquaio. it is a stupid fight

haha not sure if this is sarcasm or not but just the very idea that Hatton should turn down the opportunity to fight the universally recognised second best fighter in the world and arguably the most exciting and popular fighter of the age in favour of fighting Junior Witter just makes me laugh out loud.

What the hell is the point of Hatton fighting Witter? To prove he can be 140 lb champ again? Why does he even care he's already conquered that goal. Hatton went to the very top of the tree when he fought Floyd Mayweather. True that knocked him down a few branches but why after the effort of climbing should he get out the tree altogether and start playing around in the bushes? ???

Hatton vs Pacquaio is a fight that will be remembered in boxing history in 30 years time, two of the greatest fighters of today fighting in a huge mega event. It would almost certainly be the biggest PPV event of all time to not feature an American fighter.

But you think Hatton should turn that down for the opportunity to fight Junior Witter ???

If Hatton fought and beat Witter it would be a meaningless victory. What would that add to Hatton's legacy any more than beating Maussa or Urango?

He'd get less than half the money, it would zero impact outside of the UK and no impact at all in defining his legacy in 20 years.

Hatton's best options are the big money huge event fights. Pacquaio or De La Hoya make the best sense for Ricky, and after that a fight with Juan Diaz.

Bilbo, let me ask you this, what the FUCK is Hatton gonna do untill the end of this year? Just wait for Pacman to try and beat Marquez, which he won't, and then David Diaz?
