Woo hoo
From what Im reading alot,It sounds like he let up at times and did not go for the finish.Dare we say carried. I did not dole out the money for this "event" ,would have liked to have seen Bunema upset.
Nah,he kept getting gassed in the rounds so hed rest,he's just spent.Tito couldnt carry the weight, but early on it looked like his night,Jones just conserved his energy and Tito got gassed out by the middle rounds. Not an impressive victory in the slightest
Come on man. It was obvious he coulda KO'd Tito if he really tried. He did carry him a little thats for sure. And it was a good win. I was disapointed he didn't go for the kill. But otherwise he easily handled Tito Trinidad. And thats not easy for most fighters to do.
Come on yourself,Tito was supposed to have no shot in this fight whatsoever, and he was taking the early rounds,Jones was slow and okey, but there was no way a 35 year old Tito could bulk up to 170 and pull off 12 rounds
I didn't really feel that way.. I wanted to see the old Roy come back and stop Tito, but realistically Roy hasn't KO'ed anyone in years, and he's been extremely gunshy since being on the receiving end of 2 straight. Tito isn't exactly a chump no matter how out of his weight class, he's damn tough. I mean who the hell was Roy's last opponent Hanshaw... He looked just as out of condition as Tito, certainly wasn't as dangerous imo, and Roy still went the distance with him.. He could have probably finished him in the 11th as well, but didn't go for it.. I think a Jones UD was to be expected considering what stage he is at.

I called a UD prior to the fight because
I thought thats what Roy would aim for, control of the situation and a total outpoint.
Otherwise the old excuses would pour out, of a lucky one shot or lucky combo,or oh well thats boxing anyone can get cuaght etc , UD is UD.
Fascinating excuses though!
For two guys who could have had alot of rust they went well I thought.
Heaps of Titos body shots were below the belt line ,(as Roy pointed out by smacking himself there),most of the ones above the belt were caught on his elbows.
I saw Roys shots ,although not as many thrown as Tito ,land fast and clean and at the right time and 'oh well thats boxing too' ;)

But a 39 year old Jones can? Jones is near 40 man are you trying to say that Tito could have won if he could go the whole 12 rounds? SO the fact Jones started dominating him at a distance had nothing to do with it?
