Re: Pavlik Vs Taylor 2, Bilbo's rbr
This is my first look at Ronald Hearns and he just dropped Astorga with that rangy right cross, he could use a better jab it looks like it just his range finder, again just like his dad...as soon as I typed that he starts popping the jab, lol. He uses the "flicker jab".
Re: Pavlik Vs Taylor 2, Bilbo's rbr
Thanks for the updates guys, keep 'em coming.
Re: Pavlik Vs Taylor 2, Bilbo's rbr
Not really impressed with Hearns so far... One nice right hand, that's about it though...
Re: Pavlik Vs Taylor 2, Bilbo's rbr
how many more fights till the main event?
Re: Pavlik Vs Taylor 2, Bilbo's rbr
Man, Hearns shut me up with the ko...
Re: Pavlik Vs Taylor 2, Bilbo's rbr
Impressive 8th round K.O! That left hook had Astorga sprawling all the way across the ring from one rope to the other. He was off balance but was still nice shot...Hearns stopped him with a couple right crosses up against the ropes.
I almost forgot about the Tank Vs. Kimbo fight on showtime..damn alot of fights today.
Re: Pavlik Vs Taylor 2, Bilbo's rbr
Navarro Vs. Mijares is up next, then Castillo-montiel, then Pavlik-Taylor
Should I rbr this bilbo or you watching it?
LOL Mijares has a dude with a wrestling mask in his corner..lol
Re: Pavlik Vs Taylor 2, Bilbo's rbr
For those who can't see the fight.
Ronald Hearns vs. Juan Astorga
First Round: (10-9 Hearns)
Ronald Hearns starts out with the jab in the early part of the round. Lands some nice jabs and a few body shots. Basically a feeling out round with Juan eating jabs and unable to get inside and score.
Second Round: (10-9 Hearns)
More jabs to the head and body shots from Ronald Hearns. He is still content to keep Juan at bay with the jab. He is pushing the action more in this round than the last.
Third Round: (10-9 Hearns)
Ronald Hearns had Juan Astorga hurt in the third, but was unable to finish him off. He did land several big shots, but Juan was able to blunt the follow up shots from Ronald and regain his senses and make it out of the round.
Fourth Round: (10-9 Hearns)
Ronald Hearns getting more aggresive as the fight goes on. He is coming in closer now which is giving Juan more opportunities to score, but Juan hasn't been able to take advantage.
Fifth Round: (10-8 Hearns)
More jabs from Ronald to start the round. Juan finally finds some offense thanks in part to Ronald getting in closer. Down goes Juan and a huge counter shot from Hearns! Lucky for Juan, or unlucky depending on how you look at it, its is the last seconds of the round and he survives the round.
Sixth Round: (10-9 Hearns)
Ronald Hearns is painting him with the jab as he has been all night. Ronald Hearns shows better defense this round, but his offensive production went down. He still landed some nice shots and easily took this round like all the others before it.
Seventh Round: (10-9 Hearns)
Juan trying to cover up and force his way inside, uneffectivily. Since his shots are so wide when he misses he leaves himself wide open for countershots, which Ronald has taken advantage of all night. Hearns is content to paint Juan with the jab and wait for countershot opportunities.
Eight Round: (TKO Hearns)
More of the same from Hearns with the jab. Juan still trying to force his way inside unsuccessfully. Hearns has Juan hurt again and down goes Astorga! The referee asked him if he was okay before waving it off.
Summation:
Ronald Hearns looked good against an overmatched opponent. His height and good use of the jab makes him a tough challenge, but the few times Juan did get inside he seemed a little perplexed. Other than that good performance from Ronald.

Mijares
Re: Pavlik Vs Taylor 2, Bilbo's rbr
Round 1 Mijares using his southpaw jab, Navarro is also southpaw, navarro pops a few wild hook that glance..Mijares moving alot laterally keeping JN on his toes...Jn is dictating the pace so far, not alot of clean hits but more output from JN...jab righthand from CM...tie up inside....rabbit punch from JN in the clinch..JN's round on output for me
10-9 Navarro
Round 2
double jabs to open up CM... it a jab potshot fest atm..throwing the occasional 2-3 combo both missing alot, double jab right cross, this just has the feel of a 12 round grinder to me...jab hook body fromCM JN is definately pressing but CM isnt giving too much ground, in and out from CM...showing his defense, great head movement....JN is hard pressed to land right now....quick jabs fromCM are met by JN own shots, quick combos at the bell, nothing has landed of note yet.
CM 10-9
19-19
Re: Pavlik Vs Taylor 2, Bilbo's rbr
Good. Setanta people shut up quickly and put the boxing on.
Re: Pavlik Vs Taylor 2, Bilbo's rbr
Hey No Contest carry on with this rbr mate, I've only sat down to watch it now, don't have a clue whose winning, just about to start round 7
Re: Pavlik Vs Taylor 2, Bilbo's rbr
Round 3
Feints from CM...this is a a boxing chessmatch so far...CM eats a big left cross from JN...JN trying to find a way in...jabbing more now from JN..CM thrws 3 jabs....couple rh's to the body from CM...JN looks like he's a lil slower this round...very close one but I had CM winning it with his flurry at about 20 secs, they hold the last 8-9 secs..
CM 10-9 M29 N28
Round 4
Looping left misses from JN...pace has slowed a bit...both showing good d....off balance push has JN's hand touch canvas...ruled slip....both trade hooks..jab war..JN throws 2 left uppers...it impossible to cover all the shots these little guys throw so I'll just make note of the bigger lands and whos controlling the fight...that was pretty even back and forth..calling it even
CM39 JN38
Round 5
both come out on their toes dancing JN goes flat footed and CM keeps on his toes..Cm timing some good counters caught a good uppercut...nice right hook fromCM...Cm moving to JN's power...not hes going the right way...CM doesnt seem to be hurting JN, and JN doesnt seem to be hurting CM
CM won that one with output for me. 10-9
CM49 JN47
