Paulie just fought his way out of a potential clash with Hatton?
He still holds a world title and has only lost one fight against one of the very best fighters around (Cotto) sure he struggled in his last fight but hes a hell of a lot more credible than Lazcano

For Oscar there just isnt anyone out there worth fighting (he cant fight Cotto cause he cant make 147 and it would be stupid jepordising a multimilion dollar fight) as for Hopkins v Wright, Winky is a world class operater granted it was at light heavy but the fight was worth making and it turned into a very close affair. Well at least "The Ring" thinks highly of Lazcano, I don't see how he is rated at #7 still though since his only fight in the last 20 months was a loss. And before that he was simply walking on stepping stones.
I think that as far as take it easy fights are concerned this is too far of a step down. Ricardo Torres is a good choice, Kendall Holt is also a good choice, Vivian Harris, Herman Ngoudjo, Challenge Zab Judah to comeback to 140, Edner Cherry, personally I think those are all better choices.
I'll be honest I have no issues with the opponent because ALL THE BIG fighters do this after a loss. Could it have been a more prominent name?
