Re: ODLH want his last fight with Cotto
Belts don't mean champion in my book... IMO and in most people's opinions Oscar was fighting Mayweather for his supremacy over the sport, not some meaningless bauble. As for Mayweather winning in a landslide, how does hitting your opponent when you want, and not getting hit in return not result in a landslide? Dela Hoya wasn't to able to do anything effectively, when he started using his jab, Floyd started countering him with the right hand until Oscar stopped trying to come after the jab, and the almost the whole end of the fight Mayweather controlled... I am not saying Oscar didn't come close in a few rounds, but most of them he was outboxed, outlanded, and outsped.
Re: ODLH want his last fight with Cotto
How can people say that Oscar doesn't have the balls to fight Cotto... thats retarded... Besides Ali nobody has faced better competition in their career than Oscar... he risked open humiliation against perhaps the two best defensive fighters ever in Mayweather and Whitaker. He risked his undefeated record against a prime MOsley who at the time seemed invincible. Ditto with Trinidad who hits harder than Cotto. He wnet up to middleweight to fight one of the best middleweights ever(top 5 in my books with Greb,Robinson,Hagler, and Monzon). Nothing in Oscar's career would provide any evidence of him being scared of anybody in the sport.

Could be man, I find it difficult to judge as Oscar fights so seldomnly now,
If you had asked me a year ago who I'd have picked my automatic response would have beemn De la Hoya but in the time that has passed Oscar has been inactive, Cotto has become a true Welter and my theory was made at the peak that was culminated by the Mosely victory.
I have to admit I am interested in this fight.

 Hi Taeth, be cool friend , i think that nobody in this Topic said that ODLH doesnt have the balls to fight Cotto , everybody just saying some point of view and analitycal situation that how Oscar will fight Cotto by his Prime before vs now , we know that he risked his undefeated record , but adding about Tito we have to be realist he didnt won that fight and comparing with Cotto ; Cotto have more boxing , strategie and comes everytimes with differents skills that nobody can read it at the time of the fight and have a devastaring punch too , so if we comparing i think Cotto have more probability to win ODLH in that WW Division vs when fought to Oscar......that is the analisys that we tried to share with all of you my friend.......lets put some more interesting point of view that we will share.........;D

Delahoya is at his best when he dosent have to be the aggressor. A come forward pressure fighter like Cotto is stylistically a comfortable matchup for Oscar
5'10 1/2 73 in reach compared to 5' 7 67 in reach I mean with a 6 in reach advantage I see Cotto getting throttled

Thats interesting!
I guess that this fight would indeed draw a crowd then, not only ofpeople watching because of the names, but out of curiosity as to the result.
If it were to happen this year, I think I'd stick with Cotto winning on Points!
Re: ODLH want his last fight with Cotto
Oscar is not the fighter he once was.
One body shot from Hopkins and that was all she wrote.

Cotto who is a pretty good body puncher himself, would go to town on Oscar's soft body.
;D
Little Floyd goes 24 rounds with Oscar.
Cotto takes out Oscar in 7
;)
Re: ODLH want his last fight with Cotto
Good point Danny G. Or maybe ODLH will get in the ring with a guy that was made for his style and hits Cotto easily with straights, hooks, jabs, etc. and rocks Cotto just like others already have. Straight-forward boxers have not been a threat for ODLH. Many people wish ODLH the worse, well, get him in the ring with Cotto! They'll be happy to see him loose or they'll end up hating ODLH more when he beats Cotto. Can go either way.
Re: ODLH want his last fight with Cotto
I think if Oscar decides to fight Cotto it will be his last fight.....whether he wants it to be or not.
If Floyd's hook hurt ODH then Cotto is going to put him to sleep. And let's not underestimate Cotto's hand speed and timing...he's a damn good fighter and he can box when need be
Re: ODLH want his last fight with Cotto
Did Floyd hurt ODLH with a body punch? I missed it. There's one punch that almost every video on YouTube keeps repeating when the round finished and Oscar was backing up and got a straight right. Good punch, good timing (right when the round finished) but its not like "Oh my gawd, ODLH can't continue because of that punch".
I don't remember seeing both of them hurt. Just fighting cautious.
Re: ODLH want his last fight with Cotto
Oscar was attacking and Floyd threw a short hook to the chin and ODH's legs gave a bit....if Floyd makes him do that then Cotto is going to have a field day with him.

Did Floyd try to throw body shots?
When is the last time you saw Floyd take some one out with a body shot?
1822?
Cotto would take Olden Boy to school and make him quit on his stool.
There are plenty of fighters who Floyd could not hurt or take out and yet Cotto came by and destroyed the SHIET out of them.
Case in point?
Victoriano Sosa
DeMarcus Corley
Zab Judah (Cotto finished him, Floyd didn't)
Floyd at the time claimed Justin Juuko was the toughest fighter he had faced and yet Cotto took him out in 5. Floyd took 9
The record has shown that any fighter PBF can beat, Miguel can beat them better and sooner.
Oscar would be no different. Cotto at this point would man handle the old man and yet Floyd will dance for 12.
Re: ODLH want his last fight with Cotto
...you forgot to add "...and BARELY WIN"
