The thread says it all. If you can't handle the truth dont read it again.
"go buy some glasses you bias idiot" ;D
You're a tool. And you invited people to neg rep you so don't wet yourself when we do.
You think I give a damn about the rep? I don't so rep me all day and all night if it makes you happy. The truth must be told and if you don't want to hear it, don't read my posts.

You neg repped her back so you obviously care. Your initial post is bullshit by the way.

Re: hopkins Was Emabarrased, Outclassed And Exposed
Joe was hurt by the guy, joe really didnt land anything telling in my opinion..
and how you win a fight, especially having been knocked down on 116 when you fought hopkins fight and hopkins pace..
aint no robbery but those judges shoulda swayed Bhop
Re: hopkins Was Emabarrased, Outclassed And Exposed
I've just found my post from a few weeks ago on this fight, not a bad prediction?
"I really see this fight as a bit of a scuffling chess match, probably with a controversial decision at the end.
Both guys are good solid, thinking fighters, though Calzaghe does often lose his head and get involved in slugfests. He's got a very good chin and good speed though so he gets away with it.
Everybody really rates Hopkins, but he's left me a bit cold thoughout his career (sorry to all his fans). I think he is a real pro - always fit, strong and motivated and he is possibly the best 'spoiler' I have ever seen. Hopkins doesn;t win his fights by imposing his style and gameplan on the other guy - he wins by just stopping the other guys imposing his own style and gameplan on the fight, he frustrates people to death.
I don't really see Calzaghe's workrate having too much of a bearing on this, Hopkins is a master at controlling the pace of a fight and I think both guys will still be standing there at the end, possibly not too tired and possibly without much damage having been done to them. They are both seasoned pros who know how to fight and survive adversity in the ring.
I actually think it will be a boring fight. I'd lean towards Calzaghe simply because he is younger and is a very very slick boxer when he wants to be. Having said that, I would not be too surprised to see Hopkins nick it .... he;s the hometown fighter, he will flurry and steal rounds etc.
Re: hopkins Was Emabarrased, Outclassed And Exposed
Incidentally, I don't think Hopkins was embarrassed outclassed or exposed.
This might be a bit controversial on here, as Hopkins has a kind of legendary status on this board .... but (to me, anyway) he was always a decent, tough and solid old pro. He was never that exciting to watch, nobody ever looked good against him ....... a solid scuffler who has learnt how to survive in the ring, by coming up the hard way.
In a previous age, Hopkins would have been a solid 'gatekeeper' - the guy that you had to go though to get to a world title (maybe a bit like a Robbie Simms or a Gerry Quarry type status - a headline act and a contender, but he falls short of greatness. Maybe a bit of a Jersey Joe Walcott as well?
It's not his fault - he is a solid professional who never undertrains and has come a long way in life ... a genuinely tough man, just not a 'great' fighter.
Yes, he had middleweight titles for a long time, but I think you need more than that to be called 'great' - you need to fight dangerous guys who are your size, you need to show a bit of class etc etc.
I'm sure there are people here who disagree - this is just my opinion, but Hopkins is/was a very good fighter ............. but not a great one.
Good pros hardly ever get enbarrassed, outclassed and exposed because they know what they are doing in there - they can fiddle and fudge, hols and slip, follow with the head or elbow, pace the fight and often come out unmarked .... but there is a difference between trying not to lose, and trying to win.
I've never seen Bernard 'let it all hang out' and throw caution to the wind in order to get an unlikely victory.

Look man, I know your whole style. You say things that you think people wanna hear and are gonna rep you for. You're the clown of the forum now. So get back to work and entertain us knowledgeable boxing fans with your laughable thoughts.
I don't give a damn about rep or anything else but saying what it is. I don't let my love for any fighter blind me from seeing things for what really is going on, unlike you.
If hopkins didnt fight dirty, it would have been even easier and clearer. That guy is a turd and you're a damn fool for trying to make sense of his actions.
Pretty much...
Pretty much ?? you don't even know me so keep out of things that you cannot comment on. I have only ever seen you twice, and he said i had laughable thoughts well for someone who had laughable thoughts i sure have a lot of people agreeing with me.

What do you want, afucking medal?
only kidding. I dissagree with your second post by the way, both he and Calzaghe have suffered because they didn't get the limelight until after their exciting primes, while they still find ways to win they don't capture the imagination.
IMO Hopkins is a great, he might be a bit below Hagler/Monzon and of course below SSR, but he genuinely dominated the division like the first two, and from what I gather the division wasn't exactly loaded when those guys were on top, while Hagler also relied on wins against naturally smaller guys.
Re: hopkins Was Emabarrased, Outclassed And Exposed
I don't mind if people think Calzaghe won, or if they love Calzaghe and hate Hopkins, but for coming out with such a disrespectful tirade against a legend and being completely rediculous ("exposed" at 43 years old?? Come on), you become the first person I've ever given negative rep to.
Aren't you the guy who started a thread recently about taking bias out of boxing (I may be wrong)?
Re: hopkins Was Emabarrased, Outclassed And Exposed
I love all this rep me don't rep me stuff.... if I genuinley believe what I'm saying and present a logical, thought out argument that is not based on bias fighter hating or loving then I couldn't give a monkeys nuts if you took 5000 rep of me.
Calzaghe won a close fight that did not live up to the hype of the pre fight build up - fact. Hopkins has a legacy that in the future will not be tarnished greatly by losing to an undefeated younger champion when he was 43. The disrespectful comments he made however have certainly tarnished him as a man in my eyes.
Please don't take 5000 rep of me ;D

Yes,
"If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same" ..... you'll be a man, my son.
Ol' Nard let himself down a bit on this one this time. Shame.

Hopkins was trying to throw one shot at a time and trying to counter Joe all night but by like the 4th round, Joe had it figured out and made easy work of it. He had hopkins timing and everything else down.
Everyone wants to try to downplay it and say that Joe was throwing some wild punches but it was Bernard who was looking silly in the second half of the fight and being countered when he wasn't being swarmed.
Outclassed:
Joe was so masterful in solving hopkins. He came in not throwing his hardest punches because he knew bernanrd was putting his head down thus putting Joe in position to get his face busted up so he just threw half strength and and quickly covered his fave before hopkins head could hit it.
Embarassed:
He was in survival mode near the end against a guy who clearly wasn't going to stop coming to get him so he did what any other coward would do; try to get him DQ'ed or get points taken away. How classless was that on the part of bernard to fake it not once but twice? Max Kellerman called him on his bluff and showed him the replay and he still wouldn't confess. He actually had the nerve to say that it was right on the letters. Memo to bernard: Thats a legal punch stupid.
Exposed:
Now everyone got a chance to see how hopkins reacts when the tables are turned and all his dirty tactics don't amount to enough to slow the guy down. He chickens out. To top it off, he couldn't give the guy credit knowing he just beat him decisively.
Until you guys get over the facts, You can come in here and curse me out or send me negative rep or whatever other girly stuff you guys are into.
Get Well Soon!!!!
Whoa!!! nelly....
I mean I'm a fan of neither guy but come on man... No one got exposed here. Hopkins is Hopkins and he'll make anyone look bad maybe not the entire fight but he'll have his moments.
Funny that you say Hopkins was exposed when I've read people say Joe was exposed... Go figure?
I don't think either one was exposed and I think Joe needs to be praised for his work. He fought for what he believed and he went after Hopkins. He didn't sit back.
On the other hand Hopkins needs to be applauded for his effort BUT it's clear he needs to retire cause ALMOST wining doesn't count.
Anyway, I think it was a very close fight. I had it 114-113 for Joe.
7-5 in rounds for Joe.
With round 1, 10-8 for Hopkins.
Re: hopkins Was Emabarrased, Outclassed And Exposed
For a guy fighting a thin white boy with no power, Hopkins sure was exposed.
