If Hatton had been thrown in with Zab you wouldn't be a fan of his now. Because Hatton would be working in his local pulling pints ;)
Fenster, the 9 days is untrue.
As I said, when I first heard that it was weeks, now it has reduced to days. How would a fighter make weight in 9 days?
Witter took the fight assured everyone that he was in shape and then bombed out, because he was so psychologically imature as a fighter than.
I don't admire any fighter who doesn't prepare adequatly and if Junior claims he wasn't prepared, then thats his fault. When preparing for a world title shot, you have a training camp and prepare accordingly.
As I said, Hatton would have been in training camp before that fight. He never would have been suilly enough to take a fight like that at short notice nor would his weight allow that.
And we all saw what Hatton did to Jason Rowland.

So it's UNTRUE Jason Rowland was meant to fight Judah?
Truth is donny, I don't think you have a clue about any of this. So let me help you -

And here's a Witter quote about the Zab fight -
It was a shot in the dark. During my first few years as a pro, I was struggling like mad financially, so when the shot came about it meant a really big payday. I thought: if I don't take it, I've got nothing - all my savings were gone and all my loans were on top of me. As far as the fight went, I didn't have enough experience. I wasn't even British champion and I had nine days to prepare for a shot at Judah, one of the best fighters in the world. I lost on points, but I learned so much. It taught me that I deserved to be at that level.

Re: Hatton Vs Witter.Who wins? POLL,VOTE NOW.
That article was posted 19 days before the fight, so even if Jason pulled out the next day and Witter called in immediately, he'd have 18 days maximum. Good evidence for your point.
Witter HAD to take that fight, very very few fighters have the backing Hatton had during his career, being able to call the shots about every detail of a fight before even becoming a national champion. Granted Hatton's personality and approachability contributed a lot for that to be possible, but he did have it easier than most, he had 30 odd fights with just one of them being debatable top10 (tackie) then got the no.1 fighter in the division gift wrapped in his home town, yet his advisor had the audacity to claim Warren was doing a bad job.
As for some of Witter's performances, every fighter has off days, he's probably stuggled against the likes of Kotelnik due to lack of motivation, just as Hatton struggled with Collazo and Urango, even though he had the motivation to win belts in those instances.
I'm picking Witter to win now just due to current form. You may able to gloss over Hatton's last fight due to the competitio he was fighting, but truth be told he's been anything but convincing since Kostya. Castillo at that point in time was NOT a genuine threat, the result of the fight proved it, it was Rickys easiest fight of probably his last 20.

Humour me.
Witter is a fighter who claims to always in shape.
Am I right or wrong?

Come on Donny, I think we all know theres a difference in always being in shape and being ready for a fight against a p4p ranked fighter in 9 days
How do you think hatton would have done back then with 9 days against KT?
For the record I always thought Witter offered nothing to hatton back then the domestic scene was great and Hatton fought Thaxton, Magee and Jason Rowland, Witter would have been a step back and I think Hatton would have beat him in a good but one sided fight
I still think Hatton will still win but for Witter brings a lot more to the table now

I'm just quoting Witter.
He claimed he was in the correct shape before the Judah fight and when he tried to insinuate himself asa Hatton opponent earlier this year he said he is always ready to fight, because he stays in such excellent shape.
He then proceeded to disrespect hatton for letting himself baloon between fights.
Thats correct isn't it?

My point is, if a fighter enters a fight, convincing the media that he's had enough time to train and he is ready, it's completely hypocritical to reflect on the loss and blame it on lack of preparation.
Re: Hatton Vs Witter.Who wins? POLL,VOTE NOW.
Hatton does to Witter what Witter did to Vivian Harris;);D
Re: Hatton Vs Witter.Who wins? POLL,VOTE NOW.
At the end of the day, Witter is a capable fighter and in my mind will extend Hatton.
However, MaB vs. Naz springs to mind.
Educated pressure wrecks the switch hitters balance and throws him of his game.

Convince the media? This was an undercard fight to Tyson-Savereasy. Witter HELPED "save" the show.
It seems as though you don't understand the class gap between inexperienced Brit level and genuine "world" championship level.
Not everyone gets the silverspoon pampered treatment in life, donny. Some people HAVE TO take the CHANCE when it arrives ;)

I realise not everyone gets the recognition, grooming or management they deserve, but my point stands.
I actually have very little problem with Witter, he acts brash on telly, but by all accounts he a nice amiable guy off camera.
Nobody reachs world level unless they've got something special and Junior does.
However, for me, he's just not on Ricky's level.
