You get what I mean though?
Yes but Mayweather would not have looked half as good had the referee not been on Hattons case, let Mayweather foul all fight and if it was fought at Hattons natural weight.
it's Mayweather's natural weight to fight at too 140. He is quicker slicker and hits harder and is faster
Yes but physically and stylistically 147lbs is far more suited to Mayweather than Hatton. Not taking anything away from Mayweather he did his job but again at 140lbs with a fair but firm referee it would have been a decent scrap. Would Hatton have won probably not would it have been intresting definatly and woulds Floyd have TKO`d Hatton HELL NO.

Why wouldn't Mayweather have tko'd hatton? Wouldn't hatton still be as open for that check left hook as he was at 147?

Pac began his pro career at a weight that was less than most bulemic supermodels. I'm not crapping on Floyd b/c IMO he's the greatest fighter I've seen in my era, but Pac rose up from the middle earth hobbit weight classes and has cemented himself as a legitamate lightweight champion. That's pretty impressive IMO.
No pacquiao's been fighting that young since his pro debut. He was 17 or something when he was fighting as a pro if I remember right.
I hear what you're saying but he was a pro then. Floyd turned pro as a jr. lightweight. All in all, they both moved up roughly 30 lbs or so, it just opens my eyes when a guy does that whose original weight was damn near only double didgets.
I see what you're saying. But what Pacquiao and Mayweather have done is both impressive.
what I'm saying is people really shouldnt be going "Pacquiao is better then Floyd now because of this and that" When they've both been impressive.
And we can't really say what Pacquiao has done is more then Floyd at this point they are about even Pacquiao will surpass Floyd on the p4p lists if he makes the right move in his next fight.
Because Floyd is retired until after the Margarito Cotto fight.
If pacquiao's next fight is against someone like Guzman or etc, then it will be no choice but tio put him ahead of Floyd. The ball is in Pac's court right now and he can make all the moves. But I don't think people should talk about placing him over Floyd over him beating Diaz

Some how i dont think Hatton would be 8pts down having completely lost it come the 10th rd.

Hatton was open for that check left hook that fight.
Watching the fight earlier you can see that Mayweather is hitting him with it whenever Hatton was rushing in like he does and Stewart even talked about it saying Mayweather was setting up Hatton with that shot the whole night.
So its not really that Hatton was down in points as he rushed in, its just how Hatton fights imo.
Re: Pacquiao needs to step it up
But this is getting off topic
This is about Pacquiao.
Now if He fights a Guzman or Casamayor next, then there will be no question. imo he should go for Casa since he is the legitimate Lightweight champ, he is a little past his best but he is the guy at lightweight besides campbell. At lightweight is where these fights will really define pacquiao's career and add to his legend.
Pacquiao has it all in front of him, if he plays his cards right he'll be on the all time p4p lists above even Marquez and Morales and I'm not afraid to say that because that's his potential.
At this point id say him and Mayweather are about even with Mayweather holding a little of an edge over it. But like I said at lightweight fights can be made that can really make Pacquiao's career.

If Pacquaio beats Campbell or Casa then beats Hatton he will have out achieved anyone in the last 15yrs.

He'll be the number one p4p without question. I really don't know if he needs Hatton to do that, it all depends who is the champ at the time it happens but if Pacquiao can handle 140 well then I'd love to see him fight Hatton but I'd like to see him more at 135 first. And yeah fights against Guzman and Casa would make his career.
But even if he lost no one could take away from what he's already done and 2nd p4p is the lowest he can possibly go unless Pavlik ko'd calzaghe or something.

yes I really hate Pacquiao...especially when I said that number 2 p4p would be the LOWEST he would ever get to. And also in my show where is said he is on the verge of a break through in this division. Especially when I said that even if he lost no one could take away from what he's already done and 2nd p4p is the lowest he can possibly go..
Putting me as a pac hater is silly honestly.
Re: Pacquiao needs to step it up
ok so how exactly is pac suppose to step it up? since he needs to step it up?
this thread doesn't explain itself, it just says pac needs to step it up with no facts on why he should step it up
is fighting valero a step up  right now its a step down.
what about soto? thats another step down, pac would pick him apart.
Guzman? is he a step up, to some since they believe in him but after pac breaks him down fact will show why guzman never got to the elite matchup cause his not at all a step up.
I can't believe anybody would suggest fighting mab twice, eric 3x and jmm twice, still requires stepping up. well to who? the others are unproven and those three are the top proven featherweights pac can possibly fight. this thread is rediculous.:p

You've said it well Jules. I'd like the starter of this thread to define step up coz he clearly does not know what it means.;D

I think he worded it wrong. I think he just means he wants to see Pacquiao make those fights to happen at 135.
But they are the main fighters at 135 and Pacquiao should fight him. People give Mayweather flack for not cleaning our a division so Pacquiao should do it and not get flack for not doing it when he does it even if him doing it wouldnt be impressive in the eyes of Julius :)
Hope i said that right
Re: Pacquiao needs to step it up
that's better. sorry for the neg reps majesty. I'll pay it back in double positive reps next time.
maybe Pac will clear the lightweight after fighting Hatton. As of now, the legit lightweight contenders are still unavailable.

Your right.
Even more reason that Pac should have fought him. Guzman needs his chance, hasn't had a big fight. Fightwise, he's younger than JMM, Diaz, Erik, AND Mab.
Pacquiao needs to step it up. It's getting to the point where his fights are not interesting.
Brilliant post
When you look at Pacs recent opponents, they all have summat in comm , they are either washed up or useless.
He has never fought a good up and coming boxer so I cant see why he would start now when he can continue fooling alot of his Countrymen and getting paid to do it.
pac testing the water at lightweight division by fighting a champion not good enough for you? i'm sure whoever pac fights next we'll hear some gripes. sorry, manny cannot fight all of them at the same time.
