but someone like mayweather would beat him easily it would be like baldomir all over again.
clotty and williams imo both take him because they generally have tight defences and good chins to.
you wont knock margarito out, but he isnt an elit fighter i dont think.
He can't box for shiet but his chin, his work rate, his stamina, his power and his size are enough for him. Tony is a small Middle Weight at best who can make 147. Just imagine if he was fast and could box ;D Man did Floyd retire just in time or what? Floyd knew what he was doing when he said he was retiring after Baldomir. Floyd might fool the people by saying who is Tony Margarito but the TRUTH is.. Floyd and his camp knew EXACTLY who the phuk Tony Margarito was and is. ;D
But hey! Shaq can't shoot a free throw to save his own life lol That's real, you work with what God gives you. ;)
Well said and good way to sum Tony up...
The sad thing here is... believe it or not, Tony's defence has gotten better, it's the one thing they really worked hard during camp for this fight against Miguel the funny thing is, Tony did the same thing to Miguel after a flurry of shots, Tony just kept coming foward with a huge grin on his face like he did against Cintron. That against Cintron was what made a believer out of JT_rock ;D Anyway, I hope Margarito vs Williams is made and I hope the second fight is better than their first encounter because to be honest, I thought the first fight was a little dull but then again, I was rooting for Margarito and it was just getting frustrating to see:
1:- Williams doing too much holding
2.- Margarito fighting with his hands in his pockets in the early rounds.
The most important thing to keep in mind here is both fighters have vowed to start fast and for the most part they have although Williams against Quintana was very fast, it took Tony at least 6 rounds to get going against Cotto but I am still hoping for the rematch and I have huge expectations and I hope I am not let down again ;D Note: Tony had to work at slowing Miguel down and he did this with uppercuts and body shots. ;)

It has always been my favorite division. What is wrong with liking the welter weight division? I could see you talking shiet to me if I was talking about the heavy weight division but I am talking about one of the most exciting division in the sport. Should I knock you for talking about the cruiserweight division in which you think that the running biatch named david G@ye is so great? No, I am not going to knock you because you like Ricky the pink face hatton or Davida G@ye, you only like yellow teeth fighters or what? Oh wait, they are both brits, my bad, you british fan boy you. As long as they brits you will root for them right? I don't root for race like you. Ok, now close your little puzzy hole up now, speaking of holes, when are you going to pop your little cherry? Are you afraid of pootang pie? When I was your age, the last thing I did was sit around the house, you can't get away poonaanaa? You must be afraid of poonaanaa ;D

lefty. I do apologise for the way I've been with you, Yes my knowledge does lack apart from Cotto, Mora and now I'm bitter that Cotto's been found out.
I'm also jealous as I secretly like Hatton and wish I cold get my picture with him, or any boxer really, its just that I'm that ugly no person in their right mind would want to be seen with me.
Thats why I'm always on here taking out my frustrations on you
It takes a man to admit it danny

The truth is the welterweight division is the only one you know. You say Miguel Cotto is exciting ? David Haye is 10x more exciting than Miguel Cotto. And yea Fanny your accusation of me rooting for race goes out the window pretty fast. I've stated endless amounts of time I want Pavlik to KO Calzaghe and how I dont like JC. I also dislike Junior Witter and Enzo Maccarinelli. And as for popping my cherry that has been done. And the difference between me and my girl and you and your girl is your girl has more boxing knowledge than yourself :LOLATYOU:
Lefty wins once again with a TKO in the first. Fanny is too easy to counter punch and own
Re: When will it ever stop? Just give the man his due...
I gave Margarito his dues after he beat Cotto. I honestly did not think much of him until he beat Cintron, but even then I still had doubts. I was even happy he lost to Williams because I tought he would fade away. But he came back strong and when he beat Cotto he won my respect. I admire him and now a fan of his. Margarito is for real.

I think Margarito has that mentality of "Lets fight Mother F***** not dance"....Hence the just walk through shots...Something very impressive yet very foolish at the same time...
I hope there is a rematch between him and Williams and exactly as you said...I hope it does not disappoint

I got word from a friend that saw Tony in camp before the fight and he said that....When he was asked what he thought the outcome of the fight would be, he said... Tony has been working on nothing but defense and based on this, I think it will be a boring fight and Tony will get the decision. E. Stewy at the very begining of round one said That Tony's defense was looking pretty good and he thought that Tony's defense was under-rated, it's not that it is under rated, it has improved believe that or not and it has. I guess they are still trying to iron out the kinks and wrinkles because there was a lot more head movement from Tony and I have to agree that his defense is improving ;)
Re: When will it ever stop? Just give the man his due...
Yep I give him credit for being the best welterweight right now, sure.

I am seriously thinking about starting a 12 step for some of you guys......
Margarito has proven himself hands down...what is there to prove? let's review a second....
3 of Tony's 5 losses came early on in his career..so early they can not be discredited on his resume due to the fact we have a hell of a lot more guys out there current and past that have more losses then he does and they came later in their careers.....
His only stoppage was on cuts....A valid stoppage yes but when I hear people say Vitaly beat Lennox and Lennox was lucky due to the cut stoppage I have to question peoples opinions of valid stoppages and losses...The cards were pretty even at the time of the stoppage as well...
The loss to Paul Williams was more due to Margarito waiting too long to step it up then anything....Tony was taking care of business at the last part of the bout....I remember Bernard Hopkins making the same mistakes a few times especially in the Howard Eastman fight where he lost the first 5 rounds before stepping it up....It was a tactical mistake that he acknowaged the moment the fight was over and made no excuses...
He has knocked out 27 of his 37 opponents he has beaten...His last 20 opponents have had better then a 75% win ratio....11 of them better then 85%.....
He has walked through guys like Kermit Cintron (lets spare the Kermit and his mental status comments the Man was a highly touted prospect in the first outing and champion in the rematch....he also has KO's 27 of his 29 opponents he has beaten....
He practicall made Lujan a one eared man for the rest of his life..
Most recently he beat one of the sports top 5 pound for pound fighters and a man everyone was considering the best puncher in boxing Miguel Cotto...The same Cotto people were saying was boxings next greatest superstar....
And that is in no way a dig at Cotto but more a testamnet to Margarito.....
So lets spare the He is slow as a turtle comments...He is nothing more then a club fighter who has gotten lucky...No more he is not as good as people claim and all the other nonsense...
If any of that is true what does that say about the men he has beaten?...The same men many of you who are making these comments about Margarito praised before the bout with him took place.....
You don't have to like him...You don't have to praise his accomplishments...you don't even have to give him his due....
BUT....
Don't look for reasons to try and take away from what he has done...Don't look for reasons to make excuses on why he won't beat so and so especially when it comes to fighters who have yet to beat a top 10 ranked opponent.....
Let it ride as is...The man is the best 147 pound fighter in the world and he has proven that....
Paul Williams biggest accomplishment is a close win over Tony and I give him his credit but he has not accomplished even a 1/3rd of what Margarito has......
Here is a little VH1 I love the 90's flashback phrase for ya's...
Don't hate the player hate the game....and right now Antonio Margarito is the best 147lb player in the world.....
Margarito tko wins against cintron and cotto: fighter of the year.
Re: When will it ever stop? Just give the man his due...
Since he OWNED Cotto :lolhaha: Margarito has my respect.
