Re: <-CutMeMicks Ringside Exclusive of Martinez-Bunema, Angulo-Andrey & Gamboa-Ramire
I liked Gamboa's performance. Contrary to most thought, I thought that Gamboa's aggressive performance was a Professional style more than Amatuer.
It would do him well if he moved slower up the championship ladder. What's the rush?
Too wild and clumsy though in his aggressive style... he needs to look up Cotto tapes and see how a real fighter "FIGHTS." But I like his aggressive "Fighter Attitude." Shows he's more than athletic skill.

I think I was expecting 3 tough competitve fights, but two were one sided and the third was over before it had the chance to get real good. From watching on TV perspective...of course its exciting when your ringside.

Agreed, Typical HBO blowouts.

As an fyi, I just read that Vernon Forrest has until October 14th to decide whether or not he will fight Martinez, if not, he has to vacate the title, and Martinez becomes the title holder.

That would be good match. I can see Martinez winning but he better not have those hands low with Forrest because he will eat jabs like crazy.

I think it would be a good fight as well. I would give it to Martinez.
I don't think he would drop his hands with Vernon. He started the fight against Bunema with his hands up, it wasn't until about the 3rd round, when he felt extremely comfortable, and confident, that Bunema wouldn't be able to really catch him, is when the hands came down.
But I have a feeling that Vernon won't take the fight, he hates to fight southpaws, and he's looking for big money fights, and even though Martinez's stock went up with that performance, I don't think it will generate the kind of money that Vernon wants.

I think Martinez would win a MD....
Forrest is still crafty himself and has the experience on his side.
It would take a full set of 12 rounds and good fought rounds to beat Forrest.

These fights are on HBO on Demand now.
