why do u keep sayin who has kelly fought? he is still young stupid, and just barley started gettin these fights with bhop and JT. damn let the dude rest for a minute. and from wat i saw mosleey did hurt cotto a little, you tryna make it sound like i said he was fina get kod.
I only saying who has Pavlik fought in terms of
1. A puncher
2. more then just one elite fighter who is riddled with flaws
3. a fighter who isn't 43 regardless of his accomplishments
4. a complete fighter with speed and power.
I am comparing Pavlik's chin to Cotto's in that its good, but its not elite level. It definitely hasn't shown that it can withstand a beating, if he was just suffered a flash knockdown against Taylor, or it was late in the fight after he had taken a ton of punches that would be one thing, but Taylor almost knocked him out with one punch, and Taylor couldn't knock out Cory Spinks or Ouma or any of the B calss or higher fighters he has faced, and yet he almost KO'ed Pavlik. Besides that Corley fight, every guy (Judah, Margarito, Torres) that has hurt Cotto has had from a good punch to a devastating punch(in Torres). Cotto didn't have problems with Quintana's power, with Abduallaev's power, with Mosley's power. In the Mosley fight it was the cut in his mouth, and him changing strategies to run out the clock that were the reasons Cotto was moving a lot.
Against Judah and Margarito he never went down from a single punch like Pavlik did against Taylor, Judah hurt him, but Cotto was able to retaliate immediately with hard punches and recovered almost instantly, against Magarito the accumulation broke him down. So I think the comparison is fair, at least until Pavlik fights better fighters, which he will do.
pavlik did not go down frm one punch it was frm 3-5 of flush shots. i think u need to watch that fight again.

You shit all over Pavlik's track record, but hold Kessler high on a pedestal. You talk about a fighter getting chinned/hurt and automatically erase them from doing anything significant?
Please explain why you hold Kessler in such high regard. I mean his opponents are far from breath taking. You also throw out skills such as speed and mobility, but neglect things such as heart, will and the determination to step up above in beyond in a situation where is is sorely needed. Speed and mobility mean nothing all when you are dug into the trenches. They are not the end all and be all. Sometimes you need that little extra oomph to get you over the hump.
Pavlik may not be a world beater, but he is out there taking fights that he can learn from. He might lose saturday, but at least he is not out there taking the safe route.

Kessler is a great fighter, sure on paper he lost by a large margin against Calzaghe, but people forget a lot of those rounds that Calzaghe won were close rounds that involved Kessler scoring big right hands, but Calzaghe has a very good chin, and he has good speed which proved the most difficult for Kessler.
Kessler is an amazing fighter, he has speed power, determination, toughness, he can do anyhting in the ring. People forget he didn't spar for several weeks before he faced Calzaghe, and that would be an obvious disadvantage in terms of stamina, but Kessler would be able to PAvlik a lot easier, and because Pavlik is orthodox so that jab would be a factor when he wasn't able to really use it against Calzaghe, and that changes the entire dynamic of this fight. Taylor also has a great jab, but he doesn't throw combinations well, and he would always be off balance in countering situations where Kessler would be landing precise powerful punches.
oh and kelly doesnt shoe any of that. kelly isnt that damn slow now and if he was the why does he have so many kos. i agree kessler is a good fighter, but im afraid im gonna need to see more than the calzaghe fight to be really impressed like you so i can be all over his sack like you.
If you haven't seen more than just his fight against Calzaghe then you shouldn't even be arguing with me because you know nothing about Kessler. Watch him against Andrade, against Mundine, against Lucas... Kessler is absolutely amazing, and he will be one of the best fighters in the world again, as is Pavlik, but once against its a bad matchup for Pavlik. Punchers without iron clad chins have difficulties with coutner punchers that carry some power.
well i am gonna argue with u, and u know why cause i am the SWAG KING beeatch. and like amat said kelly is fighting one of the biggest names in boxing today and kessler is fighting who????? oh yeah u dont even know his name.LOL

Re: What is with this site and Kelly Pavlik
Kessler hasn't needed to dig deep, and against Cazlaghe he tried. He lost no honor in that fight as anyone will tell you. He was trying his best, but Joe was the better man that night. It happens. He never lost hope, he never stopped punching. Emanuel Steward mentions this plenty of times in the fight.
Why do I hold Kessler in such high regard? One is I have a preference for boxers rather then punchers so its partly that, but he has mastered the sport so well, Pavik is a good technical fighter, but he's nothing compared to Kessler who is the perfect fundamental fighter, he has power in both hands, he has good enough speed... it gets redundent. I prefer a fighter that can do more then just go forward. I like Kessler because he has made the most with what he has in every aspect of boxing.
I also have never said I don't hold Pavlik in high regard, I used to not like him, but I do very much now. I've watched about 10 of his fights, and I think he has a lot going for him, but I don't think he is the legend others on here seem to think he is. I think he also has made the most with what he has, but that he has less then others do IMO.
Also ... I am not even going to call you king, but you are making stupid comments so I am going to end this, for now, until tomorrow. I hope you all have a good night.

I'll concede that, I havent' watched that fight since it happened. Anyways One thing I will change is that I believe Pavlik does have potential, when I say he is slow I don't mean he is like sloath, but that he has normal handspeed which looks slow compared to Calzaghe, Dawson, Kessler, Taylor, etc. but I think if Pavlik ever really improved his defense he would be something special, but until he can not get hit he will continue to be not half as good as half of you guys believe, and not half as bad as some of us believe.
Re: What is with this site and Kelly Pavlik
by bad I mean lack of true greatness in this case.
Re: What is with this site and Kelly Pavlik
Undercard of Pavlik/Hopkins.......it's stacked.Ornelos vs. Rubio good scrap........Mares vs.Melendez....Nice......Steve Luevano vs. Dib....even showing punch from the backseat Yuri Foreman :-X
Re: What is with this site and Kelly Pavlik
From reading all the posts about Pavlik...
...he's 26, he's showing a lot of potential and fighting anyone they throw in front of him. It's not hard to get excited on what he can possibly do with the rest of his career.
There was a post about him fighting the best middleweights of all-time on here. C'mon, he's way too young to be talking about that. His career is just beginning and we should all just sit back and enjoy the ride...

i told taeths gay ass that. all he says i who has kelly fought. the stupid retard must want kelly to fight once a month or somethin. Taeth this aint the fukin old days.
Re: What is with this site and Kelly Pavlik
Considering Miranda and Taylor both suffer from the same flaw of dropping their front hand low, I'd say Pavlik was at the right place at the right time.
He's a good 1-2 puncher, just the perfect style to take advantage of dropped hands. Winky showed just how effective straights are against a bad guard when he fought Taylor first. Taylor and Miranda were tailor made for Pavlik, imo and both have always looked god awful in my eyes. It's hard to give Pavlik credit for his biggest wins when they were tailor made and had very green tendencies.
Pavliks good though, and young. He claims he only wants what, 5 more bouts? At his age he's got about 8 years left to cement an incredible legacy assuming he stays healthy. I like him because I think he is very good for boxing, nothing more.
Re: What is with this site and Kelly Pavlik
I like Pavlik coz he's willing to exchange shots despite the fact that he knows his chin is not so good. It makes it more exciting. I doubt though that he will win over Bernard. I'm putting a bet in another thread. Hope there are takers.

The point Taeth makes is the SAME as Caleoh's, just to counter the stuff like that thread where guys said he'd beat all the legends like SRR. He is promising and exciting but that talk is ridicilously premature.

STFU, you've been on here two months, and you know nothing about boxing. What I am saying is that you can't overrate a fighter, yet. I am saying who has Kelly fought YET. If he does go on to beat Hopkins, Calzaghe, etc. then I will give him the credit, but as of YET he hasn't done it. As for me being stupid, I am not the one who can't put a coherent sentence together.
Coherent means understandable just incase you don't know what it means dumbass
I don't know, I still don't see the same promise some people do. He could become really good, and he already is, but his potential has a lower pinnacle then some of the other guys out there.
