Yeah it was a real shock.. But Hatton was thinking purely of offense. Even to the point where it seemed he felt he could go in and attack without even being hit, OR feeling any punches.. It was the same way as every other time he has been knocked down. Coming in and copped a hook he didn't see, wasn't expecting, wasn't prepared for, and this one just landed like a sledge hammer right on the side of his chin and probably jarred his brain and everything...Quote:

I don't get what your saying so just because armchair fans wouldn't of heard of Michael Nunn, Sumbu Kalambay, it doesn't count ?
Any person that follow's boxing would know who they are, and since it earned the first ever KO of the year. I would say it is a pretty well known amongst proper boxing fans.
And it was even more shocking because Sumbu Kalambay had a world class chin, and he had beaten the likes of Herol Graham, Iran Barkley, Steve Collins, Mike McCallum.
And also add to the fact that Michael Nunn wasn't known as a big puncher was even more shocking, and i'd say it was even more shocking and brutal than Manny Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton was.
I ment in a fight which is important to the whole world of sport not just to a few hard core boxing fans.
Having read the thread and some of the replies I think Lewis's KO of Rahman might have been better and more important.:rolleyes:
I think Hatton is over rated. I think he only got the Floyd gig due to his record, people read to much into a fighters record, because Hatton had 40-0 record prior to the Mayweather fight then people just assumed he was a helluva fighter. He was lucky to get past round 1 and Pacquiao's KO was something out of a Rocky movie. It was so spectacular it looked like something you see in a video arcade or on your Playstation 3, X Box (lol)
He should retire.
