Mike Tyson was not shot in his 20´s. His last fight in his 20´s was the second Bruno fight. He was far from shot. He was shot in the Lewis fight and especially his last two fights. Shot means you can´t fight anymore.
At 29 he was on the slide, yes. Past his prime, yes. Not shot.

Quite strange he began to slide so quickly, after a brave effort against Thomas Hearns, and a one sided victory against Roberto Duran.
Benitez looked good in his losing effort against hearns and leonard. he burned out pretty quickly though. but what a slickster he was in his prime. one of the few fighters who actually could slip body shots.
Barry McGuigan.
Not sure how old he was when he lost his title but he was never as good as the night he won it against Perdosa.

i've heard of that. Cooney's a good guy. very nice thing for him to do. i suspect savvy guys like hopkins will end up financially set after his boxing career. not piss it away like holyfield who's been having a lotta financial problems.Quote:

well, seeing as how you mentioned Holyfield. He won't go broke like Tyson. All Holy has to to is downgrade from a 40 room palace to a 20 room mansion, sell a few of his luxury cars and a bunch of his jewelry, and he'll be flush again. That's my take on it anyways.Quote:
