it's a fact Xylocaine is not banned in 1 state (nevada) but there's valid reasons too why it's banned in 49 other usa states. it's safe to say Xylocaine is a widely banned illegal substance
dude give it up, Floyd only uses xylocaine for his hands due to him having incredibly fragile hands, if it was helping him hit harder at all he'd have a hell of a lot more KO's as of late
his fights from 2000 to 2009
Gregorio Vargas - UD (
Nevada)
Emanuel Augustus - TKO (
Michigan)
Diego Corrales - TKO (
Nevada)
Carlos Hernandez - UD (
Michigan) - It was only after this fight that he used Xylocaine for his fights with Castillo
Jesus Chavez - TKO (
California)
Jose Luis Castillo - UD (
Nevada)
Jose Luis Castillo II - UD (
Nevada)
Victoriano Sosa - UD (
California)
Phillip N'dou - TKO (
Michigan)
DeMarcus Corley - UD (
New Jersey)
Henry Bruseles - TKO (
Florida)
Arturo Gatti - TKO (
New Jersey)
Sharmba Mitchell - TKO (
Oregon)
Zab Judah - UD (
Nevada)
Carlos Baldomir - UD (
Nevada)
Oscar De La Hoya - SD (
Nevada)
Ricky Hatton - TKO (
Nevada)
Juan Manuel Marquez - UD (
Nevada)
so that's 10 decisions to 8 KO's, 6 of those KO's being at 140 and under
hmmmm yea those pain killers are making Floyd a mini Tyson :mad::mad::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
I've put in some ammendments about where those fights took place. So since he broke his hand against Carlos Hernandez, he has only had 1 KO in Nevada. As far as we know, the only fight he used Xylocaine for was the first Castillo fight shortly after he'd broken it against Hernandez. Since he's been on intensive hand therapy courses since, it's quite likely he no longer uses it. Regardless, the point is that it clearly doesn't make him a stronger puncher, you could argue it has the opposite effect based off the evidence.

without xylocaine, it's possible floyd would have lesser ko wins or possible he could lose some of those fights. it's obvious xylocaine helped floyd in his fights otherwise he would not have used this widely banned substance
There are other things you can use to numb your hands that are legal everywhere. The thing Floyd tok is just the most effective. And like people already said, it's legal in Vegas so this is a nonissue desperately dredged up by the Pacneedle camp to deflect attention from their guy refusing random drug testing.
So what your saying is its ok for Mayweather to use xylocaine because NSAC allows it even when its illegal in other states. But its totally ok to disregard NSAC rules when it comes to drug testing. How convenient.

there's a big difference between using a legal substance allowed by the sanctioning body and using an illegal substance that the urine tests done by that sanctioning body don't detect

I'm fully aware of the differences. Again, xylocaine is legal in the state of Nevada but illegal in other states. But my point is about the rules and regulations.
NSAC has a rule and your stuck with it. If you follow some rules you like then great. But if you don't like the other rules then petition for it to be change. But unless its change everyone should abide by the rule of the sanctioning body.

PED's and any other steroids are illegal in all 50 states....
and where was the Pacquiao/Mayweather fight gonna be held? oh right Nevada, the state where xylocaine (an anesthetic) is legal

Negative reps don't matter to me especially if it comes to dumb individuals like eagle. This is a subjective forum and if my opinions don't matter the hell i care dumb assers.

Mayweather on illegal substance, well, illegal everywhere except Nevada
I may be a little late to the game on this but I've read several articles about the real reason why Money didn't want the fight in Texas, because it's illegal for a boxer to use xylocaine on fight night in Texas. Infact, just about every article I've read says that Nevada is the only state in which xylocaine is legal for boxers. As you all probably already know, this stuff numbs your hands which would allow you to throw maximum power shots all night with no fear of feeling pain in your hands. I find this a little hypocritical given what he was accusing manny of doing. I know all the Floyd fans aren't going to like this thread but numbing your hands will greatly improve your performance in the ring as well as other drugs. When floyd and manny finally do fight, Manny should submit to all blood tests, and each fighter should have a representative in the opposing mans locker room to watch the hand wrapping. If Floyd wants to make sure manny's walking in clean, Manny should do the same with Floyd, which should include the xylocaine.
Re: Mayweather on illegal substance, well, illegal everywhere except Nevada
Normally I would post about how
1. If it's not banned he's not doing anything wrong.
2. The source is a tabloid
3. He only did it for one fight (Castillo II)
4. It doesn't matter as Pacquiao already has another fight booked
or something like that.
At any rate here is a thread from right here when it was originally discussed and actually cites a source. It includes all points and counterpoints and really has no reason to be discussed again as this fight isn't on the table right now.

So where in the NSAC rulebook does it state that a boxer must pay his opponent $10,000,000 dollars for every pound he comes in overweight?
Pac brought in a laundry list of special rules, Mayweather brings up one and Pac and his camp run like OJ Simpson.

$10 million dollars might prevent floyd from cheating at the scale again. he might have second thoughts of coming overweight in the weigh-in just like what he did to jmm

clottey's purse for the pacquiao fight is $1 million dollars plus and you want pacquiao to ask for $10 million per pound penalty? i guess youre smart enough to figure that out
im sure there's a weight penalty clause for pac-clottey fight and im also sure its not $10 million per pound

How are you sure there is a penalty? Did you see the contract?
I've noticed you're not a fan of using sources, but love to perpetuate rumors about Floyd fighting Malignaggi, Matthew Hatton et. al.
Where is your proof there is a penalty for coming in overweight?
