The reason the Haye fight is on the November 13th is because that is the only time before christmas that there is a date available at one of the two big arena's in the uk. MEN and O2. That is the sole reason tht the fight is on this date Greg nothing to do with the Pac fight at all. ;)
Pac Hatton only did 300k on ppv, the Smae Hatton who did 1.4 million v Mayweather. On another note sky havne't even officialy announced the Pac fight is on sky yet have they?
Great point.
I think Sky have a date filled for every Saturday until christmas too.
It must be hard for overseas fans to comprehend that worldwide boxing stars are not as big as British fighters here. We pay for Khan-Salita but get Oscar-Floyd free.
Pac-Margarito is FAR more important to the boxing world than Haye-Harrison yet it will be totally overshadowed by the British contest here. It might get a fleeting mention in the sports pages.
I don't think anyone that gives it two seconds thought underestimates British fanaticism.
That's a bit harsh.
It's like this - Pac-Margarito happens at 4am UK time and gets zero press coverage. Haye-Harrison happens at 9pm primetime and gets tons of press coverage.
You expect the general British fanatic to be interested in something they know nothing about and can't see? Come on now Sheepy ;)
Never said that, I said British are fanatics, never said anything about being more interested Pac/Margarito than Haye/Harrison. I don't think there's anything harsh in what I said at all, or perhaps you don't think British fans are fanatics?
Some are for sure. Just like you find fanatics everywhere else.
I think if you used the word "some" it wouldn't have been as harsh ;)

Aside from Pacquiao in the Philippines, I can't think of any other nation that currently supports their fighters in a more rowdy way. Can you?
Also what kind of cut do you think ODLH and Pac got from the Khan PPV? Greater than 0%? Or did they get nothing from it?

Nothing, Sky bought the rights from Golden Boy for a set fee like they do with all American cards shown on Sky, the numbers of ppv had no reflection on the money sky paid for the fight.

Hmm... lets see - I'm pretty sure i've witnessed American fans showing rowdy support for their countrymen. Mexicans for their guys. Puerto Rico, Ireland, Denmark, Australia, etc etc. MANY fans from all over the world passionately support their countrymen.
The Brits are no different.

2. Haye sold near 1 million PPVs against Valuev and 600,000 against Ruiz. Who was he piggybacking on in these?
3. PLEASE someone show me where it says Pac-Margarito is on the Haye PPV.
Pac - ODLH was part of Khans comeback PPV, so Hatton isn't the only PPV he has been on. This was supposed to be a huge double header for Sky with Haye fighting over here and then off to Vegas for Pac-Floyd, but as that didn't happen I am just assuming that they have kept Pac as part of the deal. Haye had been saying he was fighting on the 13th November since the date was put forward as a possibility for Pac-Mayweather.
I think that Haye-Audley will match if not better Haye-Valuev whether Pac was on it or not just due to it being 2 Brits fighting for a HW belt. Haye is getting more and more popular over here and is becoming a household name and Audley is known as something of a laughing stock by everyone in the country. People want to see KO's in HW boxing and they want to be entertained watching it, that is what Haye-Audley will bring and that is why people will pay for it.
The amount of people who are what i'd call fringe boxing fans watched Wlad-Peter and were turning it off bored by the 6th round is frightening for HW boxing and is not good for the sport. We need these people to be watching boxing and getting excited by it because they are watching it to be entertained not because they love the sport come rain or shine (like the majority of posters here do) and they are the people who will make up the PPV numbers at the end of the day!
Same thing I'm talking about. They were on Khan's PPV, which would have been PPV regardless, and had they not fought on that date, Sky would have shown it FREE or not at all (that was Khan's comeback fight with Fagin and clearly needed bolstering) .
These guys wrongly believe that a 4am American fight, that doesn't invlove a British superstar, will somehow distort the numbers for Haye's upcoming PPV. Even though he's a PROVEN huge PPV seller, and standalone 4am American PPVs don't happen unless a British star is involved.
Clutching at straws. Fact.
Mate you're wasting your time. You're responding to people who made their minds up months ago. ;D

I'm not Ukrainian or German, and I have been a Klitschko fan since the first time I ever got to see them fight (I think the first fight I watched Wlad in was the Shufford fight) don't get me wrong I'd love to see quality American heavyweights, but I don't just root for someone because of their nationality. In my opinion more than a few Brits have some sort of Napoleon complex (ironically enough), the great empire is dusted and done, they are no more. Sure you've got SOME world class boxers, but not EVERYONE who comes out of England is the greatest thing this side of Ali. Americans don't think every decent American fighter is world class, not even the ones that win the belts...we like to see our fighters tested and they have to fight in a manner that is crowd pleasing as well. You no doubt saw how many Americans supported John Ruiz during his reign as title holder....not that many and for a number of reasons #1 He wasn't the best fighter, #2 He never tried to become the best fighter #3 He had an ugly style #4 He only got the WBA title because he was a Don King fighter and everyone knows it.
I'm just tired of the Naseem Hamed style personalities coming out of England, why can't you guys produce more Frank Bruno's?

Well as long as ODLH didn't get a cut of that and it didn't effect the amount of money left to pay out the PPV feature fighters you're absolutely right . It is a variable percentage because it is a fixed cost, but it is still a percentage none the less. Hence greater than zero.

I am not to sure if you are being sarcastic there Greg, if not I apologise. ;D
But are you trying to be smart there? Of course they got some financial gain from sky showing the fight live, there not going to give it to Sky for free, so if you are trying to correct me for sayin they got nothing then quite a silly question in the first place to think one of the bggest fights of the year would of been without any finances going Golden Boys way.
But Sky have a budget for American cards and it has nothing to do with the PPV, it just made the Khan bill more attractive with it falling on the same night, the two fights could of been on two different nights and the same money would have been paid by Sky to both Khan which would of been PPV and Golden Boy which would of not been on PPV.

Absolutely, God save the queen.

Get this - Sky have just announced Pac-Margarito is being shown live but not as part of the Haye PPV.
It's "free" on Sky Sports 1.

yay!
Re: Haye accuses Klit bros of fighting old run down Americans and rejecting his offer
Haye makes a bigger fool of himself by the day....Get over it man either fight one of the K@ brothers or shut up already!!!!.....For goodness sake Ruiz, Audley?....The we will get on the Klits for fighting Shannon....I do not think Shannon should of had a title shot let alone been in the ring with a top HW due to his activity over the last few years but WTF has Haye done?...Beat Valuev?....Valuev ranks right along side Carnera when it comes to huge oafs that made it on nothing more then Carnival attraction size....
This has gone beyond negotiations and it has gone beyond reality and has become nothing but nonsense.....Haye thinks he is the HW version of Floyd when in truth outside the UK NO ONE CARES ABOUT HAYE....and it is starting to seem that even his own countrymen are starting to lose interest in him....I mean shit he backed out on both brothers....an agreement was made for 50/50 and he still finds a way to not sign.....Haye has not impressed ANYONE BUT AN IDIOT....To date with a single win....His greatest moment at looking like there is something worth watching was the Enzo fight.....Enzo was knocked out twice this week alone.,,,,First time an acorn falling from a tree put him out then on his way from the ER a kid took him out with a spit ball so the KO really was nothing to fathom on....
Haye confuses himself with PBF except he is not half the fighter Floyd is...has a tenth of the drawing power worldwide and hold what is currently the least desired of the ABC titles....Keep taking David maybe one day you will believe what you are saying
Re: Haye accuses Klit bros of fighting old run down Americans and rejecting his offer
No one outside the UK cares about Haye? Well the Klitschko's do. Wlad was just on TV begging Haye not to get himself killed against Audley.
And the Klitschko's number one goal is to win the WBA title so they have the full set.
