Yeah, TBH I didn't even know the exact date for this one... Now I'm looking forward to it.
Should be a good fight. I'm leaning towards Donaire on this one. Couldn't really bet against him at this weight, he fookin huge!
Can see a late stoppage.

I'm still super excited about this fight. Montiel has the experience, Donaire the flashy skills. I'm going with Donaire, but I would not be surprised if Montiel pulled the upset. And if he did, geez, would it upset the top ten p4p rankings. In fact, in a way I want Montiel to win just so Ring Magazine has to deal with the fact that they annointed Donaire a p4p ranking waaaay too early.
Tbh, I think it is a bit nonsensical and actually hypocritical to have Nonito Donaire ahead of someone like Wladimir Klitschko in the p4p rankings.
I mean I understand Nonito may display more skill per square inch of mass but IMO he is still a guy beating on undersized opponents and also, he hasn't achieved half as much!
But anyway, I'm going off topic, sorry :)
Let me just jump in there and say that fight is THIS weekend. And it's hard to hype up this fight. Both of these fighters have a $1,000 smile, and believe wholeheartedly in their training. The biggest little guy is going to win. I wish I'd seen more of Montiel's fights up to this point. This fight is on par with Williams Martinez as far as ring supremacy goes. Difference is, there is a pretty rich talent pool surrounding these weight classes.
From what little I have seen from Montiel, and from the flash a sizzle Donaire shows I am going with Donaire by PTS. I think they are fairly equal in everything except Donaire is a little faster. He's going to have to be a matador to keep Montiel off of him.
One thing that I don't see pointing in Doniare's favor is their recent common opponent, Rafael Concepcion, who gave Donaire fits until the final bell. Montiel mopped the floor with Rafa.
I know people don't like him but i just see donaire as too freakin big, fast, and strong for montiel. As much as i'd love to see i good fight. I doubt it will be. I don't think it will be a major ass whooopin like the one pac will put on shane.......but i will be clear from round one on who the better fighter is .
Montiel off the floor to tko Donaire. Think his speed will really surprise Nonito and the longer it goes I believe the worse it gets for the prematurely anointed young king of kings Donaire. Think we'll get a great scrap before its over.
Totally can't wait for this fight............. I live for match-ups like this at the weekend.
I'm thinking that Montiel may surprise Donaire with some very clever boxing indeed and speed of his own but I'd still at this point be leaning towards that extra speed of Donaire. I'm kind of 55% - 45% to Donaire. Great Match-up, maybe we'll see Donaire on the floor........
LOL^
I can't wait another day for this fight. Montiel better counter punch all day and stay on his toes early if he wants to take the pace; once Nonito gets his hell-hound rhythm going, I think Montiel's technically based defense won't be able to keep up.
Montiel 118, Donaire 118
Here we go!!! This is it!!!
WAR DONAIRE!!!
Does anyone know what U.S. channel this is gonna be broadcast on, if at all :? This is the kind of fight that you gotta watch live if you can.
Looking at the weigh in pics, and Montiel doesnt look that much shorter than Donaire, unless he was still standing on the scale. :p Both look ripped, Montiel must be on peds  Thats the new fashion, anyone ripped is on peds in my book. :p
