How is that? He's not even fighting. Pac has earned more money than Floyd up to this point.

Floyd earn more money with one fight againts Pacquiao's 2? Are you sure?
Floyd isn't making money as often as Pacquiao due to his inactivity, do you really think he'd have problems finding an opponent? he could fight someone like Quintana 2 months from now and he'd easily make the same money Pacquiao did against Margarito
fact is
Floyd has outsold Manny every individual fight
That is to be expected considering that those fights were held on American soil. How many American boxers did Manny fight besides Oscar dela Hoya? One ..... David Diaz. And most of the American general public do not even see him as American.
Now, can you answer me this. Don't you think the Pacquiao-Mosley fight will outsell the Mayweather-Mosley fight?
with the amount of criticism the fight has gotten i doubt it'll do any higher than Pacquiao/Margarito, and if it does manage to it's due to the drastic amount of hyping they've had to do with CBS, Showtime, etc.
No matter how much hyping they do, if the fighters nor the fight itself isn't interesting then the fight will not sell.
Pacquiao-Mosley will definitely be bigger than Pacquiao-Margarito since the other half of that fight is a well-known American boxer. Besides, the criticisms mostly comes from the real boxing fans. Majority of the viewers, the general public, would just want to see a good fight between two recognizable boxers. As to whether it equals the Mayweather-Mosley is yet to be seen. If it does, then that would be an excellent feat on Manny's part.

Do you guys even understand what has been happening to boxing in terms of the sports exposure to main stream media? Boxing's exposure to the main stream media has been falling from the 80's, 90's and the millennium (2000's). To add to boxing's downturn, all the confusion about rankings with the multiple sanctioning bodies is just a big turn-off. Since the start of that down turn, few boxers have been able to cross-over to that exposure and has usually been carry-over from the Olympics. Every Promoter understands that for a fighter to become a "mega" draw, he must have exposure to the main stream media. Boxing has become a niche market and as such cannot produce "mega" numbers by itself. So, you have to keep in mind that it's not about selling to boxing fans that makes it a mega draw.
Mosley is an Olympian carry over from the early 90's. Pacquiao is the biggest personality to come out of the Philippines. This fight is blitzed all over the main stream media partly because of Pacquiao's lunch visit with Obama and will be advertised on Prime time "Networked" TV. i.e. over the "Free" airwaves. It is not a hard sell to non-boxing fans who can afford it. This fight should have no problem out producing Pacquiao/Margarito. The only question I have is, what will the typical HBO PPV buyer do to purchase this fight that would normally do under the HBO banner. I don't think it will have any negative impact on Pacquiao's draw. For Mosley's draw, I can't see there being any negative but you never know about some people loyalties so who knows what the final out come is? It certainly has the potential to surpass Mayweather-Mosley.
