I stopped logging in for the site's boxing expertise a while back. Its the comical and sometimes absurd back and forth between Bilbo and Miles with a sprinkling of posters like Lyle, Andre, Nameless, Master, VD and dare I say Hornfinger that keep me coming back
I don't think the site has been particularly taken over by politics or religion anyway. You just need to look at the thread titles on the first page. When was the last time I started a proper political thread? I'm tempted to do it all the time, but choose not to because I don't want to dominate the board. Most of my recent threads are extremely trivial and they are designed that way. The new superman one is just a joke too.
I stay here because I think it's fun too. The interaction makes me laugh and even if I am posting something serious I regard it as a challenge and that too is fun. Bilbo keeps me on my toes. Maybe Snakey is just having a bad day, because at the end of the day the contents of the board consist of what anyone posts.
If you don't contribute to the discourse you can't really blame it for not having the content that you want.
This place is just as fun as it has always been for me.
That's what gets me, to have a poster who hardly ever posts anything these days just to interupt a conversation to say he's not happy with what we are talking about is very rude and rather ridiculous.
Imagine doing that in real life, he would not be a very popular chappy with that kind of attitude.
Plus we contain our back and forths to each other's threads largely. There is a football thread on this board for example and I've never even clicked in there, not really interested in football so I don't care. But I would never go in to it and moan about posters always talking about a particular team or player for example. It's their discussion not mine. I'll just stick to spamming your threads :)

This may be why you dont have many people posting because they cant fit into the new religion/politics fad that has overcome the forum. Im just starting to wonder whether we just create a political board or some bullshit so the rest of the forum can really choose to whether they want to read it or not. If you look at the forum during the day, most of the time it's only really Miles and I posting. So we just chat to each other.
It's really ridiculous for people to get annoyed about what we talk about when nobody else is here :-\

I come in and denouce it and claim God is actually completely loving.
Miles can call it all a bunch of crap
Lyle can mention the global warming is actually from the friction of everyone arguing or something else natural.
The rest can lighten up and laugh ;D
I find all of your points of views rather fascinating and very funny ways of expressing them.
I would begin to die of boredom and leave if it was all non offensive chatter, porn and work site style (under 98 IQ range type of banter). I hear that all day at work and wonder if they actually have a real life or have any opinions outside of their home team or who they'd like to root.

Precisely Baggins! That's all it was ever about. Then everyone became victimized for not fitting into the correct boxes. It ruined the forum.
